me

Boco · 05/12/2007 14:11

Hello yes me kind of.

I'm rocking and groaning when i think about it. It's also dds 3rd birthday on the 23rd. She would like a real dinosaur or a goat called Jemblier. I'm short on more sensible ideas.

I'm making presents this year - as really have to, - i have a nice idea, but it keeps looking crap and having to start over. I'm making lino cuts but can't make them line up and it just goes wrong, and i think a crappy hand made present is even worse than no present.

ernest · 05/12/2007 14:41

wheresthehamster, treat yourself to a weekend shopping in zurich or something, or better still, Basel visit the Christmas markets, drink some mulled wine and get a wii while you're at it! No shortage here. If you're in Kent i could help...?

As for us, I started thinking about it at the weekend, but did my 1st thing today, bought a cotton shopping bag for al the relatives (one each) and the boys painted them this pm

And wil go tomorrow to do all of my Christmas shopping while the boys are all out

Hallgerda · 05/12/2007 14:50

I've done nothing - unless you count the presents that arrived too late for DS2's birthday that have been held over for Christmas.

there's 3 weeks to go! Don't stress. Loads of time. I only did this stuff today cos we're coming to UK on Friday. Otherwise I'd be waiting another couple of weeks

frazzledmother · 05/12/2007 19:32

Done lists & collected catalogues - just waiting for the time to go through. Last year missed all the delivery dates and ended up trudging round the shops . I need tips to get organised. I'm going to send ecards this year from www.telltalecards.com and have bought chocolate. Still optimistic I'll be sitting calmly on Christmas Eve with everything done!

Tinker · 05/12/2007 19:33

What is the spreadsheet for?

frazzledmother · 05/12/2007 19:36

Good question - how do you use a spreadsheet?

Got a birthday for dd2 on 20th first...
.. does a box of christmas crackers count?

frazzledmother · 06/12/2007 00:10

Crackers count in my book . I found Crackers from 4 years ago - do they not pull with a bang after a while or do you think they will be OK?

I have bought stamps. I was in a huge queue in the PO to post a parcel (which wasn't a Christmas pressie - it was a late birthday present from Sept) so I thought I might as well. I've not bought cards yet though...

Think I should have ordered turkey

twinsetandpearls · 06/12/2007 02:12

absolutely nothing and as my school does not break up until the 22nd I don;t know when I am going to get naything done.

frazzledmother · 06/12/2007 08:21

just counted the days in the diary & realised childrens Christmassy stuff at school takes up part of every day next week and they break up at the end of the week. I need to get shopping TOMORROW .

tribpot · 06/12/2007 08:22

Me - although I have bought Christmas cards if that counts?

frazzledmother · 06/12/2007 19:10

Everything counts! Got down the box of decorations from the attic to try & get in the Christmas mood.

PrincessSnowLife · 07/12/2007 07:55

I told DH there were 18 days left until Christmas, and we've finally made plan to start doing things about it . We're going to make a flask of mulled wine and go out for a tree on the weekend with DS. And yesterday DS and I made a xmas card for his grandad.

We're getting there...

Prunie · 07/12/2007 08:19

We've arranged some childcare for Saturday so we can go shopping
Still no spreadsheet
How many days until Christmas?

Have bought a pack of cards. That's about it.... we are going to SILs this year so no food issues, all the nieces/nephews but one are old enough to want cash, so no present shopping except for mum/dad/brother/baby niece.

Having run round like a blue-arsed fly yesterday to gather together and make dd's costume, I'm now utterly knackered and afeared of going to the shops after the madness of Romford yesterday (even though I have to, as we have LOADS of family birthdays to buy for too, inconsiderate sods!). Was going to do Bluewater this morning as BIL reported it wasn't too hellish yesterday, but the bridge was closed last time I checked teh traffic report.

So I need to buy a pressie for a baby, buy a shedload of birthday pressies, write my cards out, put the tree up and tidy the house. Just can't be arsed at present...

Tatties · 07/12/2007 10:34

Ooh flask of mulled wine sounds good

I bet we don't even get the tree up at this rate...

I have ideas for presents now, which is progress

FatBellyJones · 08/12/2007 08:40

I've done absolutely nothing. My son is in hospital and it's not sure yet whether he'll be able to come home for Christmas, my student loan still hasn't been paid so I'm skint as a very skint thing so I couldn't do anything even if I tried and all in all things are a bit miserable atm.

DP can't spend it with me anyway as my mum can't stand him and it would be a horrible atmosphere but I can't leave mum on her own. I wish it was cancelled this year tbh.
