When will Christmas land in shops?

Just that really!!
I'm really excited for Christmas this year after an absolute sh*t show that has been 2021.
I really fancy having a wonder round the Christmas sections soon. When will Christmas hit in the likes of John Lewis (cry I miss debs too!) And next etc?

Popped into Home bargains today to see if the famous £1.99 Christmas eve hampers had arrived. No sign of them in my branch yet but shelves were slowly being stocked with Christmas goods. They're not take any chances this year. They've learnt from last winter's lockdown not to stock too late.

I am a bit annoyed to have bought some fudge and salted nuts online, only to find that their best before dates are late October. It seems I am buying last year's Christmas stock at this year's prices

I expect they'll still be fine to eat anyway. I've started adding a few bits to my shopping orders for a few weeks hence, hoping dates will all be ok by then...

Retailers wouldn't put Christmas stock out now if it wasn't going to sell. There are always those who moan that it's too early and nothing should start until the first of December and then there are the rest that understand the difference between getting organised for Christmas and celebrating it.

@VivaJen - I think that's a really good way of putting it. People on this board enjoy the organising process, but it doesn't mean everyone is singing carols in July!

I went to b n m for door hangers and b n m made me buy a teal nutcracker decoration, a gonc, glass baubles and a stocking, oh and a box of crackers

I saw Christmas stuff in Home Bargains last week 😳

I'm something of a country bumpkin but I was in our nearest city for a hospital appointment last week and dropped into the big Sainsburys there. Just inside the coor was a stack of Christmas chocolates on special offer. I thought to myself "Well that's weird.I'd not be surprised to find the odd left over chocolate reindeer in our village Co-op with a bargain sticker on it, but you'd think a big store like this would have a pretty fast turn over and not be flogging out of date Christmas stuff at this time of year. "
It wasn't until I turned down the cake and biscuit aisle and found row upon row of mince pies, stollen and the like that I realised that this was stuff for Christmas 2021, not leftovers from last year!! 🤣🤣

Going Christmas shopping tomorrow to see what is already out there

Matalan's range is up online today. I'm disappointed by it though, there's nothing I'm temped by. There is a jigsaw of pigs in blankets that I would absolutely buy for DS, but the picture is of them raw. Who wants to look at that?!
