A few people have asked me how they should thank the person who sent them something - can I suggest you post on here? Namechange if you want to remain anonymous, and remember that your donor won't know your MN name anyway - so maybe give some clues (ie "thank you for the lego and the chocolate")

TenLordsaLapin · 08/12/2007 12:55

DTM - it was my own fault, i parked six inches over the line onto the taxi rank

I can HIGHLY recommend the full body massage, also the facial are divine (they start with a foot rub!) Give them a ring and ask them if they have any specials coming up, they often do "free massage with every facial" but you have to know when they are doing it. Enjoy!

mumofmonSTARsOfBethlehem · 08/12/2007 13:36

can i also thank one of my givers from last year for the purple and gold decorations that are on my tree again this year

lou33 · 08/12/2007 14:09

lou33ssecretsanta, thank you so very much

lazawreath · 08/12/2007 14:18

I have just received a beautiful thank you card from one of my recipients(the M family)

It was an absolute pleasure to send those gifts and also an extra pleasure to buy for a girl as I have two boys and I often look longingly at the pretty girly things and wonder if my two would object if I dressed them up!

They probably wouldn't. Anyway, thank you for the lovely card

lazawreath · 08/12/2007 17:37

Dh just came in from work, read the card and was in tears! The big wuss

Sleepycat it was so lovely to meet you and your beautiful little P. I do hope you didn't mind me delivering the parcel; I really wanted you to have it as soon as possible

It's clear to me that you are a wonderful Mummy, your kiddies are lucky to have you having not been blessed with a lovely Mummy myself I can honestly say that that means more to a child than anything.

Have a Happy Christmas

Peachy · 09/12/2007 12:17

(i'm mainly interested in the inch loss bit esp if i'm on a hot date later in the night! lol) either way I honestly can't thank you all enough it was a lovely surprise and i'm still smiling about it now

TenLordsaLapin · 09/12/2007 20:00

Ooh yes, DTM - you can park opposite, but only on one half of the rank - have a look at the signs, there are arrows (which I missed ). I am , you will love it!

thankyousomuch · 09/12/2007 20:55

Wow! Two parcels arrived yesterday.

Like others, I don't feel worthy, but I have been feeling very chewed-up and sad over the last few weeks and these have really made me smile.

So. To HB, thankyou for the 'only open if you're ten' parcel. x

And to The Dear Family. You are worthy of your name Thankyou for the clothes (DS3 has especially taken a shine to the red jumper and the hat and I usually have to fight to get him to wear either!) And for the voucher and (still!) wrapped pressies. x

It was so generous of you both to send these to us. I am really touched and hope you both have a wonderful Christmas.

xx

glastocat · 09/12/2007 21:31

This thread has made me get a bit of grit in my eye. You are all lovely, this is what Xmas is all about isn't it?

Paddlechick666 · 09/12/2007 21:38

okay, I apolgise in advance for being somewhat gushy.

firstly, my apologies for having taken so long to post. I have moved house this week and it's been very very busy.

I have finally had a moment to open my two things addressed to Mumsnetter of The House.

Firstly to someone who apologised for the "small hands" getting to the envelope that contained the M&S vouchers - thank you so very much.

Secondly to the contemporary abstract artist (hope I haven't out'ed you if you wanted to be anonymous!). Thank you so much for the wonderful assortment of toys and the M&S vouchers and the Thorntons Chocs.

In a very very spooky way, you also sent me a wonderful box and beautiful dress last year.

Thank you so very very much. We emailed a litte and you might remember my situation. I am proud to be able to tell you that I have managed to turn some things around and dd and I are (as of this week!) in our new home.

DD is still playing with some of the things you sent last year and they are great favourites.

It is this very wonderful thing that is Mumsnet that keeps my faith in human kindness alive. Thank god I googled Mums & Toddlers 18months ago!

On a final note, you have no idea who you are but I send huge apologies for my 2 recipients. I promise promise promise I will get to the post office this week and I hope that the small things I am able to send are okay.

This is turning into an Oscar speach special but thank you to who nominated me, Lapin for organising this and my givers. Oh, and my Mum for giving birth to me!
