Well I got my dad a beach towel and sun cream, a packet of marmite biscuits, a new wallet, and a hat, gloves and scarf set.

(they went to spain last sunday for 7 weeks...hence the towel and suncream...and marmite biscuits! The gloves, hat and scarf is for when he gets back lol!....and he needed a new wallet..)

Sadly, my dad is no longer around. But, am thinking of getting the family patriarch (and dd's default grandfather) the DVD Box set of 'Planet Earth'. It's currently available via Amazon for less than £20, so very good value.

WendyWeber · 21/11/2007 14:20

No dad here any more either but I am giving DH one of these

OrmIrian · 21/11/2007 14:23

Am watching this thread with interest as I haven't got a clue either.

Sorry to all those missing their Dads.
AnAngelWithin - that's a lovely thing to do.

sparklyjen · 21/11/2007 16:41

Sommelier corkscrew set from John Lewis and an "I Am The Stig" tee shirt from the Top Gear website.

MrsBoo · 21/11/2007 16:47

I normally get my Dad, subscription to F1 magazine. Its a good read for a F1 enthusiast, and I know he would never buy it himself. Normally add some chocoalate too. (he is 72 and really hard to buy for). Also he passes the magazines on to me afterwards

sparkybabe · 21/11/2007 16:48

I don't get dad anything (since he helped himself to a young mistress 2 years older than my older sister!) but I'm getting DH a shredder.

tasjaSAmuminUK · 21/11/2007 16:51

Got my dad some woodwork related thing - Mortise attachement (if that is how you spell it) he wants it really bad

DH - I got him Prison Break First Series

bunny3 · 21/11/2007 16:53

Tesco clubcard deals are now doing subscriptions ot loads of men's magazines - I'm getting my Dad one for "The Week" at a 1/4 of usual price.
