and who know full well that come Christmas Eve, they'll be rushing around sweatily after everyone has gone to bed, saying, 'Now where on earth did I put them?'

I am stuffing everything behind the spare bed's bedstead, in the old fireplace recess.

In the loft. It's the only place they'll never get at 'em!

Buda · 12/11/2007 12:30

Top of the wardrobe in the spare room at my Mum's where we will be for Xmas. Couple of bits here in the garage.

Bought a Wii yesterday and that is in the top of the wardrobe in the hall.

ComeOVeneer · 12/11/2007 12:33

Our bedroom is basically in the loft so we have eaves storage cupboards at both ends of the room. One is very obvious as there is a cupboard door and the children know it is there. The other is at the back of my walk in wardrobe and is hidden by clothes hanging in front of it. They have no idea it exists .

bunnyhunny · 12/11/2007 12:35

buda - my parents used to hide our presents on top of the wardrobe, and we used to find them and play with them before christmas.

tortoise · 12/11/2007 12:37

In the loft here too. I have no room anywhere else to put anything. Haven't bought much yet though.

Buda · 12/11/2007 12:41

Ah but bunnyhunny - presents are in Dublin and we are in Budapest!

dosydot · 12/11/2007 12:42

Really must Hide them currently still in store bags on my bedroom floor - somehow dd (2)and ds20 months have ignored them

Lilymaid · 12/11/2007 12:43

Always wrap presents as soon as you get them. Hide in Loft, garage, car boot. Or why not "swap" your DCs presents with a friend so that you have their DCs' until Christmas Eve.

bunnyhunny · 12/11/2007 12:49

lol buda - that would have beaten even me and my brother!

kindersurprise · 12/11/2007 12:51

My mum used to do this. She then could not find them. We sometimes got Christmas presents for Easter (she found them when she was hiding the Easter eggs )

Poland.

ScoobyDoo · 12/11/2007 12:53

I have 2 still sitting in the bags in the bottom of my fitted wardrobe.

The others are at my mums in her spare room on top of the wardrobe at the moment.

I have no room here so i will have to keep them at my mums i think.

XAliceInWonderlandX · 12/11/2007 12:54

XAliceInWonderlandX · 12/11/2007 12:58

[dreaming of lofts. And garages]

Our ensuite shower has broken, so we are using that room for storage this year.

Next year it will be the loft or my mum's loft.

I do think those of you who are hiding things in other countries may have an unfair advantage .

handlemecarefully · 12/11/2007 13:28

'nother vote for the loft

Dropdeadfred · 12/11/2007 13:30

Loft or i empty my clothes drawers a bit and hide small ones underneath remaing clothes..( i have found pressies in January though ...)

EmilyDavidson · 12/11/2007 13:33

i put them in the loft ,well dh does because I don't like going up there (spiders!)

another good place is inside a suitcase that can be locked

lilolilmanchester · 12/11/2007 13:34

Loft. Inside suitcases for extra security!

chocolateteapot · 12/11/2007 14:05

Haven't really got a loft and my eaves cupboards are stuffed full with rubbish. So things are in a wardrobe in the garage, bottom drawer of my chest of drawers, big trunk under a bench in our room and in a little suitcase behind our bed. Oh and one is under the bed.

DD has too many stocking presents this year as I found what we lost last Christmas. So have written it all down so I know what is where for this year and what's being kept and where for next one.

lovey · 12/11/2007 14:24

Loft and safe here, but we have been known to hire a self storage thing

hayCHingleBells · 12/11/2007 14:26

In the neighbours spare room!

Its just the best set up, kids never go in their house!

Arent good neighbours just the best?

SoMuchToBits · 12/11/2007 14:43

Lots of stuff in wardrobe in spare bedroom (it's one of those old-fashioned ones with a lock, so it is locked!)

Hae hidden ds's main present for his birthday (which is in December) in the built in cupboard in his bedroom. It is quite a deep cupboard with hanging space at the bottom, and a shelf at the top. The present (large box of Playmobil) is on the shelf at the back, well hidden by several storage bags containing pillows, which always live there. Ds would never think to remove the pillow storage bags (much too boring) so has no idea his birthday present is behind them!
