and who know full well that come Christmas Eve, they'll be rushing around sweatily after everyone has gone to bed, saying, 'Now where on earth did I put them?'

I am stuffing everything behind the spare bed's bedstead, in the old fireplace recess.

Mine are in the tall glass-fronted cupboard in the dining room. All still in boxes and packages so they can't see what they are but they know they are there. Nowhere else to put them sadly. However, there is a booby trap - anyone who tried to touch them will probably get the whole lot falling on top of them. So they wouldn't do it twice ...

Loft: er..no.

Spare room: I wish!

Garage: Having a laugh?!

We don't even have wardrobes!

I'm struggling to think of where to put the bloody tree, at the moment...

jezzemx · 12/11/2007 14:52

Buda where did you get your wii (sorry for butting in!)

preggersagain · 12/11/2007 14:53

wrapped as they arrive in the house- then bundled up acording to sizes etc put into those vac-bag things and then in a lockable storage box thing in the stables- if i hid them around the house i'd NEVER find them- i'm still waiting to remember where the 'realy, really safe place' was that i hid dh's birthday pressie (camcorder) poor love's still waiting and has been since august

MamaMaiasaura · 12/11/2007 14:55

big ones in loft, smaller ones in suitcase ontop of high wardrobe.

notnowbernard · 12/11/2007 14:56

I might have to take up the floorboards, actually...

BettySpaghetti · 12/11/2007 15:02

Some (including DD's birthday presents) are in the walk-in cupboard under the stairs, behind a filing cabinet -they are pretty safe there as that area is mid-renovation so dusty, dirty and full of big spiders which is enough to stop the DC going anywhere near!

sweetkitty · 12/11/2007 15:05

Big things that erm Santa brings up the loft, little things behind some towels in the linen cupboard, too high up for DDs to get to.

never mind hiding them from the kids... dh goes to great lengths to hide my presents each year.

one strategy he has is to buy them as near to christmas as he can manage . the other is to hide them in other peoples houses.

this year i've put all presents i've bought in the loft, but that is purely due to storage issues.

nannyL · 12/11/2007 18:17

My mum and dad sued to hide all of our stuff in the garage / shed!

not sure where exacyly cause i NEVER saw it... but they defi went outside, opened the garage door and came in with presents while i was "asleep"

pyjamagirl · 12/11/2007 18:19

We have done this for three years now .
A policewoman came to our house after a neighbour was burgled she told us to double bag presents in black bags and put them in the loft. That way kids can't find them and burgulars don't ususally have time to look in loft

Twitmonster · 12/11/2007 18:21

loft here.

Buda · 12/11/2007 18:23

Jezzemx - sorry have been busy! Bought it here in Budapest I'm afraid! Lots about too!

People in UK are ordering from Amazon in Germany though and it seems ok and cheaper than Amazon UK.

MyChemicalToilet · 12/11/2007 18:43

Just making sure no-one's looking over my shoulder....... but the Nintendo Wii is under the floorboards, with a table on top.

Haven't bought anything else yet though.

cece · 12/11/2007 21:08

We have a cupboard in our bathroom that is very high up. Above the boiler cupboard. i have to use a ladder to open it.... Very useful

cece · 12/11/2007 21:09

oh and last year we hid an 8 foot trampoline (in it's box) in the garage. At the moment there are two sledges in there (shhh)
