Who is going? I didn't plan to but afraid that the whole country goes into lockdown soon.

Never been, never will

Bluewavescrashing · 25/12/2020 17:22

No way. Might have a browse online but I hate covid shopping.

TinselToedElf · 25/12/2020 17:31

We aren't because of being in tier four but to be fair I don't go usually anyway. I may have gone this year due to how shit it's been but can't now unless we travel, and we're not that stupid.

KendraTheVampireSlayer · 25/12/2020 17:32

Did it once because the in-laws were staying and wanted to go. It was hell on earth, never again will I go near a large shopping centre on Boxing day.

Sideorderofchips · 25/12/2020 17:33

Been doing mine online

DominaShantotto · 25/12/2020 17:36

Want to get a new sofa but will be doing it online I think

Poppins17 · 25/12/2020 17:38

Not me. I did my usual boots sale shop at 5.30am on Christmas Eve :-)

Plonque · 25/12/2020 17:40

What sales though? I thought most places are staying closed this year, online only?
And ... what sale tat do you "need" to survive a lockdown?

CoronaIsWatching · 25/12/2020 17:41

Never, never understood this. How materialistic do you have to be to get up at 4am or something on Boxing day just to have a hellish time queuing and dragging yourself round shops to save a couple of quid buying things you don't need

XmasLockdown · 25/12/2020 17:44

@Plonque I need to get dh's birthday present from a free standing Argos before they close the all. I also go and see if I can get Xmas bits for next year.

I inadvertently bought something online already - was downloading something for a present on the switch and found a game I’ve been wanting at 75% off.

Tier 4 as of tomorrow here anyway but if I am in Boots at some point for the pharmacy I’ll have a look at skincare and wrapping paper

SingToTheSky · 25/12/2020 17:55

(Some point in the next few weeks I mean, not tomorrow. I’ve only just come out of isolation but I hate shopping in crowds with a mask on so I’m quite happy to avoid town for now)

LadyEloise · 25/12/2020 18:40

The Irish government has asked retailers not to hold sales in store.

maddiemookins16mum · 25/12/2020 18:47

Never.

Iwillneverbesatisfied · 25/12/2020 19:06

are there any good online deals?

Dawnlassie · 25/12/2020 19:07

No I dont need anything so there isnt any point. Its only cheap if its something you actually need. Otherwise you are spending money whilst thinking you are saving money.

Vitaminsss · 25/12/2020 19:08

Seems against the spirit of the pandemic to horde the shops?

Online shopping is the way to go. Lots of retailers are struggling at the moment and have already launched their sales - could be worth checking prices now

Lovemusic33 · 25/12/2020 19:09

Only doing online, so far I have bought an exercise bike 🤣, I have no plans on hitting real shops until the spring, I’d rather not spread covid around even more. I have 2 birthdays to buy for too but hopefully I can find something online.

Ylvamoon · 25/12/2020 19:11

Out of principle not going for any BH day shopping.

caringcarer · 25/12/2020 19:40

I might look online but day after Boxing day.

tigger1001 · 25/12/2020 20:04

Shops shut here. But cant think of anything worse, even more so this year, than going sale shopping. Given that the government have warned that the mutation of covid spreads easily, it doesn't seem like a good idea to go shopping

PumpkinPie2016 · 25/12/2020 20:19

To be fair, I have never done boxing day/New Year sales but I am definitely not going tomorrow.

It would drive me mad getting up so early and going into hot, busy shops having to bargain hunt. Of course, that's my personal view, each to their own.

Neverbeme · 25/12/2020 20:21

Shops shut on Boxing Day here in South Wales.

MillieVanilla · 25/12/2020 20:22

Can't
Tier 4

Friendsoneuptown · 25/12/2020 20:25

Scotland becomes T4 tonight so no but without that it would still be no. I find it completely unnecessary for the shops to be open.
