Have they all been delivered yet? I posted 2 last Saturday and only one's arrived and I'm starting to get twitchy. I know there's a massive strain on the postal service, but I thought I'd posted with plenty of time to spare. 😥

I posted one from Jersey on the 7th December and it hasn't reached my parents in the UK yet. It will have left Jersey same day or the next at the latest, so assume it's caught up in the Royal Mail backlog.

I wish I'd sent it recorded now but it already cost almost as much to send normally as the contents had cost 😕

Bananachip · 21/12/2020 19:05

Yes, and they were slow! Posted with Parcelforce 48hr service last Monday and they arrived today.

newnamenancy · 21/12/2020 19:09

My first class ones have taken 4ish days (this was around 10 days ago)

I received a second class one posted last Saturday this Saturday just passed, so 6 days

Have you kept the receipt, there is limited free tracking on anything posted as a parcel, it's the long 16 digit code.

Justmuddlingalong · 21/12/2020 19:10

The lucky thing is, the one that's been delivered is the kids one. The other one is for adults. So while I hope it gets there on time, it's not the end of the world if it arrives after Christmas.

I've got the tracking number but it just says it'll be updated when they attempt delivery.

I posted 2 a week past on Friday, one arrived today the other still MIA ....

Bigoldmachine · 21/12/2020 19:30

Yes mine have all arrived within 2 or 3 days. Posted before the new restrictions came in though which might affect things (more people may have clamoured for post theirs due to not being allowed to travel).

spacegirl86 · 21/12/2020 19:32

We send Christmas cards off in a bundle two weeks ago, first class and they arrived this morning. It's manic. We had to send gifts today after our plans were scuppered (thanks Boris) but we used ups who are guaranteeing 24th if not sooner. Was a fraction of the price that my mum paid for a similar parcel with Royal Mail last week.

BikeRunSki · 21/12/2020 19:33

Yes, but I posted them with about a month to spare.

copernicium · 21/12/2020 19:35

My 48hr parcel posted on 26th November arrived today.

daisypond · 21/12/2020 19:36

I sent a parcel 2nd class a week ago. It got there in four days.

Spudlet · 21/12/2020 19:36

All ours arrived but I posted them a couple of weeks ago. Apparently there are some on the way here but they haven’t made it yet. It’s going to be a bit skinny under the tree for me this year - DH does his shopping at the last minute and he’s self-isolating, so I’ve bought myself a box of chocolates for him to wrap up for me 🙈

HermioneWeasley · 21/12/2020 19:46

Posted 3 at the same time weeks ago and only 1 has turned up

bookish83 · 21/12/2020 20:53

Yes very quick with royal mail. A couple of days max even on second class delivery

ThatsMySantaHisBeardIsSoFluffy · 21/12/2020 20:55

I posted a few things on Weds 9th, two second class and one 48 hour delivery. One second class got from here (NW coast) to London the next day, the other to Glasgow the Monday after. The 48 hour one was delivered on the Friday.

NovemberR · 21/12/2020 20:59

Sent a parcel Thur to my DD at the other end of the country which was delivered today. Cost a fortune with Royal Mail (Parcelforce).

My Amazon delivery with Royal Mail did not arrive today, despite the fact that I can see that my local depot received it yesterday and it was scheduled for delivery. Hope it will arrive tomorrow.

FoodDrive · 21/12/2020 21:12

I had a Royal Mail 48 hour tracked that I sent 7 days ago. Tracking hadn’t moved at all so I was really concerned - but it arrived today :)

ethelredonagoodday · 21/12/2020 21:23

I posted two on 10th December. One arrived the next day, one still hasn't arrived, both several hundred miles from me.

Merinocool · 21/12/2020 22:05

I posted 3 on Wednesday first class recorded, one arrived Friday, one Saturday and the other today. I posted 2 on Friday first class recorded, 1 arrived today but the other hasn’t arrived yet.

Howmanysleepsnow · 22/12/2020 15:10

First class, posted last Thursday, arrived today.

amaryllisu · 22/12/2020 15:13

It's pretty shoddy by all accounts - Christmas is not a surprise!

Pinkstars2501 · 22/12/2020 15:16

Mine has. But I posted it with Hermes, not Royal Mail.

I know some people don't like Hermes, but I've never had a problem with them.

My friend sent me a Christmas card 1st class Royal Mail and it took a few days. Feel sorry for the posties at the moment though.

Justmuddlingalong · 22/12/2020 17:39

The 2nd parcel hasn't been delivered yet. 2 days to go. No point in panicking and the recipient is fine about it, but I still feel bad.
