So far he has a scarf to unwrap. It's a nice scarf, but still, it's just a scarf. And I've made him a Christmas cake, which I do most years.

He'll likely spend the day on his own; he won't come here & I doubt he'll travel to my sister as he does most years.

Any ideas for something he could do maybe? I did see someone suggest Journal 29 on another thread for dp/dh's so may order one of those tomorrow. But he had a mystery solving book last year so it seems a bit samey.

Aaaarrrrggggggghhhh!!

Handkerchiefs so you're doing better than me Grin

PoulePouletteEternellement · 17/12/2020 10:21

VR headset. (At least, that's what I'd probably be getting mine if opportunity allowed!)

YakkityYakYakYak · 17/12/2020 10:24

I’ve gone halves with my sister and got him an exercise bike, cause we know he’s wanted one for a while. Bit of a random gift though for anyone who doesn’t specifically want one.

In previous years I’ve got him a food and wine hamper and he’s absolutely loved that.

Some walking shoes
A Bluetooth headphone woolly hat
His favourite sweets

lucysmam · 17/12/2020 10:29

Ooh @Bubblebox where's the headphone woolly hat from? He does go walking quite often so may use one of those

How old is he?

Unfairestofthemall · 17/12/2020 10:37

Mines getting a pair of binoculars from me and my sister and a bottle of wine from the grandkids.

namechangeforxmas · 17/12/2020 10:57

DDad has a new hat for dog walking.

But DH has a beer brewing kit which will should keep him busy for a while over xmas and new year and hopefully yield something for me to drink in 2021 so it's a win-win.

lucysmam · 17/12/2020 11:16

AuntieMarys he's almost 70. He's very into tech & enjoys walking breaks, with friends, but tends to buy himself pretty much anything he needs/wants.

Google home speaker (thinks that's what they're called?), fancy bottle of gin, and as always, a Terry's choc orange

Thedarknightsaredrawingin · 17/12/2020 12:58

Vouchers for his favourite restaurant
Leather gloves
Jumper
Port
Chocolates

Bubblebox · 17/12/2020 13:44

@lucysmam it's from Amazon. The one that I bought is out if stock but there are a few on there.
I am going to buy another for DH

CeeceeBloomingdale · 17/12/2020 13:49

I’ve made him up a food hamper to his preferences, lots of posh jams, chutneys, cakes, biscuits, sweets and tea. I have also bought him a scarf, a wallet and Bletchley Park Brainteasers book.

lucysmam · 17/12/2020 15:34

Thanks Bubblebox, I'll have a look now.

goose1964 · 17/12/2020 18:26

I've bought my dad something like this but it's a long tailed tit www.etsy.com/uk/listing/891013256/pebble-robin?ref=shop_home_active_7&frs=1

BringMeThatHorizon · 17/12/2020 18:43

My Dad's got golf gloves, wireless headphones and fancy gin!

ShrikeAttack · 17/12/2020 18:58

A case of claret from Berry Bros. Never fails to please!

madcatladyforever · 17/12/2020 19:00

Barbour fleece gilet. He can wear it round the house when it's cold. They delivered pretty quick too.

SantasBritchesSpelleas · 17/12/2020 19:00

A jumper (not a Christmas jumper, just a good quality normal jumper). I've been buying him a jumper for the last three or four years, and he always wears them happily, so I stick with what works.

MadeForThis · 17/12/2020 19:03

If he likes puzzles how about an escape room game? Unlock are a great range.

Vindo · 17/12/2020 19:04

A bottle of whiskey. Same as every year.

He isn't really a man for presents.

Aroundtheworldin80moves · 17/12/2020 19:24

My dad... Two garden ornaments (from DDs) and a book.
FIL... BbQ (joint with MIL) and a jigsaw.

Mrsjayy · 17/12/2020 19:28
