So far he has a scarf to unwrap. It's a nice scarf, but still, it's just a scarf. And I've made him a Christmas cake, which I do most years.

He'll likely spend the day on his own; he won't come here & I doubt he'll travel to my sister as he does most years.

Any ideas for something he could do maybe? I did see someone suggest Journal 29 on another thread for dp/dh's so may order one of those tomorrow. But he had a mystery solving book last year so it seems a bit samey.

Aaaarrrrggggggghhhh!!

A Hemingway hardback and a L'occitaine shave balm.

Just some toblerone and beer.

I've brought my Dad a Konstruktor build your own camera kit. Have previously brought things like Home Brew Wine/Beer Kits, grow your own mushrooms, cheese making too.

If he likes walking maybe an OS map? What about a fitness tracker - can find some in Amazon, only about £25.

Bought aftershave because I know he loves to smell like a tart and likes a choice.

I've sponsored him a beehive, got a bird box and a book.

So things that start with b only it seems.

What's your budget, OP?

If he's into tech and your budget allows it I might purchase an Echo Dot or other smart device. I also remember from one of the 'difficult to buy for' threads a bird box with a camera inside so he can watch whatever is nesting in there.

Practical stuff could include good, impermeable socks, new walking boots if you know his favourites?

A subscription to Time, Newsweek or similar. A jigsaw with an image of his favourite hobby. A hamper. Socks, pants and pyjamas or a nightgown. A 'dad' or 'granddad' photoframe from Etsy. A Spotify subscription if he likes music with blue tooth speakers.

Does he like to relax in the bath? Maybe a men’s bubble bath and shower gel set, a posh washcloth, a cold drink and a magazine to read? Or maybe a dvd box set? (last year I bought Band of Brothers and The Pacific, my Dad loved them). Other successful gifts were a small travel clock, a cheese hamper and a cuddle cushion to sit propped up in bed.

A Hungarian goose down pillow. Apparently he slept in one a while ago and loved it.
Black pepper body wash (Molton Brown)
An egg poacher.

I know. An odd selection but he'll be pleased.
