I’ve kept all things Christmas at bay but now the advent calendars are on the breakfast table, the effing elf is back, the mice have taken up residence in the doll house and from tomorrow I can eat mince pies and hum Christmas songs.

My Christmas playlist is ready for my morning commute, the advent calendars are out and the tree is up! I still don't feel ready but want the kids to feel excited🎄

Thedarknightsaredrawingin · 30/11/2020 23:14

I just read this... announced ‘oh god we forgot the Lego advent calendars’ and sent DH out of bed to fetch them from the garage. Thank you!

thelegohooverer · 30/11/2020 23:19

Glad to help 😀

AlwaysLatte · 30/11/2020 23:33

Me! Just finished filling their advent calendars and washing their Christmas bedding (I'll put it on when they're at school tomorrow).

sunshinel · 30/11/2020 23:37

Me too! I've set the table for north pole breakfast, the elf is here, tree is up! I've also washed Christmas bedding today ready to put on tomorrow, so excited!

didireallysaythat · 30/11/2020 23:40

Arse.

I forgot advent calendars.

Oh well - I think they're past the age of caring (fingers crossed...)

myhobbyisouting · 30/11/2020 23:48

Can't wait. I need to sneak down early and put the breakfast out. Table is set but don't want my pancake reindeer there all night!!

UndertheCedartree · 30/11/2020 23:49

So excited! I make my DC 'Christmas breakfast' on 1st Dec. I've just been decorating in the living room and I've defo got the Winter wonderland vibe I wanted! I've set the table for the DC's breakfast and it is looking a bit extra! I usually get them a picture calendar but this year treated them to a Crayola and Pokemon calendar. I have also got a small picture one because it is such a tradition to me and they are so pretty. Then we've got given some Christian chocolate ones. I've also filled a box with craft materials and kits for making cards/decorations etc plus an activity countdown to Christmas with an activity to do each day. On top of that I have also bought a furry christmas tree that sings (rocking around the christmas tree) - it is perched on top of the Craft box and I'll get it to start singing as my DC come down the stairs! Can't wait! Grin

They're never past the age of caring!! Mine is ready!! 🤣 Bedding is ready to go on I'll TRY to find the energy to get the tree & decorations out of the loft tomorrow, but due to fucked knees, it's not an easy task!
WitchesBritchesPumpkinPants · 30/11/2020 23:58

@UndertheCedartree

It sounds like fun at yours!! 🎄

I'm going to try to do an hour each day on my Christmas Cross Stitch(es). I had planned on having them done BY Dec!

Pipandmum · 30/11/2020 23:58

Um. I got my two trees over the weekend as my son will be back at work next weekend. Got them up and straight today. Rescued all the decorations from storage. Tomorrow I'll get the lights on the trees and the wreath and trees for outside sorted.
My daughter doesn't eat breakfast before school and my son will be having last lie in (he goes to college but normally works Tuesdays) so not doing anything for breakfast- all.surfaces are covered with boxes of decorations at the moment anyway!

DrCoconut · 30/11/2020 23:59

No, I have a horrid hospital appointment and I'm petrified. Just want it to be Wednesday (then I'll be excited Grin)

TheCrow · 01/12/2020 00:06

Lovely thread! DD is at her dad's until wed so we're waiting until the weekend for a full on Christmas explosion apart from advent calendar which will be up when she gets home from school. Reading everyone's posts is making me even more excited!

Littlemissnutcracker · 01/12/2020 00:06

I did a christmas breakfast on Sunday and lit the first advent candle. It's so busy mid week. I out the Christmas duvets on too.
But yes - have the calendars ready to go.
Elf isn't coming until wednesday when the tree goes up.

thelegohooverer · 01/12/2020 00:36

@DrCoconut I hope your appointment goes well. It’s awful when you’ve something that you’re dreading like that.

Yes, Elf is back and ready to run around the house late at night when he realises he must move and almost forgot to most nights.

Sherin18 · 01/12/2020 00:42

I am! Advent calendar and elves are out. I can’t wait to see DD’s face

niki26 · 01/12/2020 00:42

Yes - it's my daughters 5th birthday! I can't believe how quickly those five years have gone!!! Smile

UndertheCedartree · 01/12/2020 00:44

@WitchesBritchesPumpkinPants - ahh, thankyou Smile

UndertheCedartree · 01/12/2020 00:47

@DrCoconut - hope your appointment goes well so you can start getting excited!

TheLastStarfighter · 01/12/2020 01:32

Elves and advent calendars will come out while the kids are at school tomorrow, and after the school run I’ll see if wreaths are for sale yet.

I had hoped to have the house all clean and tidy and ready, but that will need to happen over the next week.

Mustbethewine · 01/12/2020 03:16

Yep! We have our advent calenders. Kids have lego ones and I treated myself to a body shop advent calender this year. Excited to dig into it. Christmas music will be blasting, even though I've been listening in secret since September 🤣

73kittycat73 · 01/12/2020 03:52
