I've pretty much finished my Xmas shopping, definitely finished for my children but now I'm going through what I've bought, I'm feel very twitchy.
My DS(3) loves crafty stuff and so I've got him lots of play doh and art and crafts stuff and kinetic sand. He has a toy shop and a Thomas the tank engine train track but not many actual toys. I DO know that he will absolutely love the play doh and kinetic sand and having a big toy shop and train set on top of that is plenty (and a nerf gun, toy plane and dress up set) not to mention all the stuff my family will get him but I'm trying really hard to resist the twitch!!

I'm hoping I will as I haven't started yet Smile

Aroundtheworldin80moves · 26/11/2020 11:16

I'm real bad with stockings. They have about 20 things each Blush

I'm tempted by books as well.

Presents wise, I ok. Just need a watch for 9yo but can't decide what to get her!

ToastandJamandTea · 26/11/2020 11:19

Me!!! I have filled a basket at gap twice and then closed the page. Currently looking at it again and feeling the twitch taking hold!

gamerchick · 26/11/2020 11:20

I've just about finished as well. The twitch is real Grin must resist. You know it.

grool · 26/11/2020 11:31

I've had the twitch urge but so far haven't succumbed. We are on a budget and I keep seeing things that would be great for DD. Partly because this year I told her Santa was on a budget and not to be too disappointed if she doesn't get as muxh as she expects/her sisters pile will be bigger but thats because it cost less etc etc-and now i'm afraid she will be disappointed even though I know she understands money is tight.

I'm also remembering last years twitch that I thought would be a great present which actually turned out to be a bit rubbish and £40 wasted. That's good motivation not to twitch again

ritzbiscuits · 26/11/2020 11:32

I'm doing ok....it's helping that many of the Black Friday deals aren't that great, I got much better prices on the things I needed last month.

I have one small game I'm pricing watching on Amazon and I could always buy new kids books, but I'm trying to be DONE.

MissDoLots · 26/11/2020 11:54

Bloody hope so.

Haven't started yet.

Lovemusic33 · 26/11/2020 12:11

I had to leave the house this morning to stop me twitching. I twitched at 2am and bought ‘what’s my meme’ for dd1, I’m sure I will twitch again as the Black Friday deals are rolling out.

Must remember “if it’s not something you were going to buy anyway, its not a bargain”.

73kittycat73 · 26/11/2020 13:26

I twitched. Bought a necklace and earrings set from Buckley London. In fairness, they did have it for a tenner a while back and I dithered and when I recently looked it had gone back up to £36.00. It's down to £12.00 today so I bought it. It's for my mum. Smile

Bottl · 26/11/2020 14:10

I haven't got to the twitchy stage yet and without a small child (he's 18 now), I think I might be passed it anyway.
However, I do have two dsis who buy us lots of Christmas presents and I find myself competing sometimes - I twitched and bought us all fancy hand cream with 70% off to go in the hampers I'm putting together.
I probably need to keep off the Christmas topic to avoid any further temptation - I just love a bargain!!

Spacerader · 26/11/2020 15:30

I was finished for dc a couple of weeks ago buy have already twitched, and probably will again.

shash1982 · 26/11/2020 16:17

Me! I really need to stop though, dh doesn't know what we've got for the dc's so will be a surprise for him on Christmas morning too! 😂
I just keep seeing things that I'd think they'd like then get stuck down a rabbit hole! 😬

I'm not too twitchy with presents, I have a couple of things left that are very specific and I'm not getting anything outside of those things. I am however twitchy for stuff for the house. It's the first time I've ever had Christmas day at home so I think I'm going a bit mad- do I really need glittery placemats? Glittery cutlery? Christmas themed plates? No. Am I going to cave and buy them all? Probably 😅

UndertheCedartree · 26/11/2020 16:36

It is the Christmas board that gives me the twitch! I read the present ideas thread and think oh that sounds amazing and before I know it I've added things to my Christmas list on Amazon. Later I go through and if it's something the DC will really like I move it to their wish lists for birthdays!

I did on impulse order a Snow scruff a luv for my DD....then thought I better get something else for DS and got a Lego architect kit!

PinkJam · 26/11/2020 16:39

I have with the Hotel Chocolat deal that was on the bargains thread. And I always twitch with children’s books!

Tangledtresses · 26/11/2020 16:58

Defo!! Can't wait to get out and do some shopping on Wednesday
Despite all ready buying most things for the kids just need a few bits on top for the extra gifts 🎁

Equimum · 26/11/2020 17:14

I am very tempted with stocking fillers. I keep seeing little things I know they would love.

DH, meanwhile, never gets involved with the Christmas shopping, but has just decided (when everything has been bought), to order DS1 an Apple smart speaker! Now that is a big twitch!

FizzyPink · 26/11/2020 17:17

Me 🙋🏼‍♀️ DP and I had agreed we’d just do stockings of small presents this year but I have a feeling he’s filled mine with more substantial presents whereas his are more little jokey things so I felt bad and ordered him a dressing gown this morning

CosyQueen · 26/11/2020 17:40

Yes! I’m trying to resist at the moment as we’re really tight on money this year!
DS is only three but I keep thinking of more and more things that he would like, and then in categories (eg- ‘o he’s got something crafty but he hasn’t got an imaginative play toy’)
I need to stop!

70isaLimitNotaTarget · 26/11/2020 18:20

Mmmm

I have already bought DS presents ( he'll be 21 so combined Christmas/Birthday) - Fender Stratocaster ( Chaa Waynes World voice Xmas Grin ) amp, some leads , pedal....... hoodies , stocking things

Still looking for DD main present (once she decides what she actualy wants )

So not got The Twitch (yet) but I'm still looking for ............

The Thing which is a random plate, napkins, jug that will form the basis for the Christmas Table .
DH keeps asking if I've found The Thing ...nope !

lachy · 26/11/2020 21:38

@70isaLimitNotaTarget I remember you looking for The Thing in previous years too!

RedToothBrush · 26/11/2020 21:41

Yes. I finished my shopping a month ago. In theory. Though it has to be said the twitch is a lot less than its been in previous years.

BefuddledPerson · 26/11/2020 21:42

Yes me, but luckily I tend to manage to limit it to stocking fillers so not too expensive. But I bought extra things today, totally unnecessary. I do love Christmas Smile

Marmite27 · 26/11/2020 21:50

Home bargains unicorn earmuffs and mittens but me at the weekend (was in there for cleaning supplies for a friend who got a flat after being homeless).
