As title says I'm so upset thinking of the people that are going to be ripped off. People are scumbags

Saw earlier that people are bidding up these scam listings and scalpers to ridiculous amounts and then not paying in order to waste their time and piss them off and also make sure that noone falls for it

clpsmum · 25/11/2020 17:42

Good! I hope that's the case

OP posts:
LaurieFairyCake · 25/11/2020 17:43

Yeah that's too obvious for even Mr Thicky to fall for

Must be to wind them up

Plonque · 25/11/2020 17:43

I'd also report any like that if you see them. Utter bastards!

clpsmum · 25/11/2020 19:21

@Plonque I tried to report but the description of items is not misleading!

I'm sending the universe my wishes that these pricks get kidney stones.

bunintheoven88 · 25/11/2020 19:47

I must be Mrs Thicky because I dont see what is going on in the photo? Is it damaged?

DobbyTheHouseElk · 25/11/2020 19:48

I think the issue is you are paying £650 for a photo.

LivingDeadGirlUK · 25/11/2020 19:49

I think you can report as misleading, they are relying on people not reading it properly. I would report still.

slipperywhensparticus · 25/11/2020 19:50

Some people will get conned it happens every year sadly

bunintheoven88 · 25/11/2020 19:50

Oh hang on, surely it's not just a photo?!

JesusInTheCabbageVan · 25/11/2020 19:50

Is it that they're just selling a photo? That's terrible if so!

pinknsparkly · 25/11/2020 19:51

@bunintheoven88 - the item listed is "photo of PS5". They will literally post you a print out of the photo in the listing, and not a physical PS5. You'd have paid hundreds of pounds for a sheet of paper....

Mycircusmymonkey · 25/11/2020 19:51

Bun they are selling a photo of a ps5 not an actual ps5

bunintheoven88 · 25/11/2020 19:52

That's abominable Shock

NatalieH2220 · 25/11/2020 19:53

This happens quite a bit. Usually people bid silly amounts and never pay just to annoy the sellers who are trying to rip people off. It happened a lot when the McDonald's monopoly was on and people would sell a 'picture' of Mayfair which was the rare one.

gamerchick · 25/11/2020 19:59

There's a ton of empty box listings as well.

TheSultanofPingu · 25/11/2020 20:00

Someone once bought an Xbox box I think.

Mustbethewine · 25/11/2020 20:02

It happens so often. I knew a guy who did it with the xbox one a few years ago. He listed an empty xbox one box on ebay as 'Xbox one box; pristine condition' and sold it for £150. He got so much flack from his family for it that he arranged a full refund for the person who fell for it. Absolutely scumbags.

Someonesayroadtrip · 25/11/2020 20:12

I just searched "photo of PS5" and there is tons on eBay. 😡

louise4745 · 25/11/2020 20:13

I don't think they can claim to be honest.

I once bought a Lego set. The instructions only arrived. I had searched for Lego friends. I re read the description and it said Lego friends whatever the set was instructions only.

I didn't read to the end abs it didn't even occur to me someone would pay £12 for instructions. I couldn't open a case. Obviously this is a lot more money so hopefully they can.

TheRubyRedshoes · 25/11/2020 20:27

Oh come off it. Perhaps you spoke to someone way down the cs chain, tweet... Post in their customer feedback... Raise complaint with ebay...

Also did you buy on cc.. That may help p

sapnupuas · 25/11/2020 20:30

This is worse!

I get that it says it’s a photo, but I can’t believe people would fall for it.
It says photo of my ....
I checked eBay, there is loads of it like that..
In one listing it says photo will be printed on the winning day.

nov1ce · 25/11/2020 20:33

I fell for one, i thought it was for dog poo bags, turned out was a bag. Quite a funny example, even though I was still p'd off.
