Decent Sack Bulkers for 12 year old...

Aponcetasticchristmastoall · 18/11/2020 19:48

My middle DD is getting a laptop for Christmas as well some quite expensive stuff for her pony. (that she asked for)

She wasn’t shy on her list and absolutely knows she won’t get everything but at the same time I do feel a bit rotten than she won’t get a decent pile of presents from Santa (we like to keep the magic alive here) I have got her a few stocking fillers, a knock off Oodie and a few books but I’m still looking for a few sack fillers that are cheap but not tat.

She’s not into makeup but does have quite a quirky dress sense, she’s sporty, clever, loves to read, LOVES friends, would do a craft if put in front off her but not particularly fussed about them...

She basically spends her time in a pair of jodhpurs, nose in a book, watching friends of making us all laugh...

Help!!

Grab bag of her favourite crisps
Slipper socks
Onesie
DVDs
Horse themed mug
'Vouchers' for stuff from you (e.g lift somewhere, her choice of takeaway, family Friends TV marathon evening)

InTheLongGrass · 18/11/2020 19:56

Mine gets can of coke, sweets, nicer socks/boxers/PJs that he would get the rest of the year, puzzle book, reading book.
His younger brother gets similar, but replace coke and sweets with chocolate!

One of those mega tubes of Jaffa cakes.
Cushions for her bedroom, or a bean bag.
Dressing gown, and pjs.
Friends jigsaw.
Friends calendar.

Sack fillers for my 12 yo

Neck reading light from Amazon
Bodyshop shower gel gift set
Lego Brickheadz Mandolorian/Child
Mug cake kit (I think you can get 'Friends' ones)
The imaginary world of... (book/diary)

Also I use food to bulk it out: Pringles, Chocs, Pocky

Hope that helps

TheLastStarfighter · 18/11/2020 20:02

Lots of Friends stuff on Typo and you could get bulkier stuff to pad it out too like a funky cushion. I was really impressed with the quality from Typo having ordered in a recent offer (a few people got the burger cushion and it’s big and fluffy).

TheMethodicalMeerkat · 18/11/2020 20:10

Remote control LED lights
A cozy throw for her bed (maybe with ponies or another animal she likes?) or some cute cushions.
Bath bomb set. I’ve ordered some of these before and they were lovely.
New Look have some Friends clothing and merchandise.

17caterpillars1mouse · 18/11/2020 20:28

I saw a friends scrunchie on Claire accessories website earlier. Not a huge gift but useful

AdditionalCharacter · 18/11/2020 20:32

Does she have a mobile phone? Amazon do some nice phone cases that look like Monica's door. Despite me dropping hints about it, nobody got me one for my birthday. There's always Christmas though Grin

ritzbiscuits · 18/11/2020 20:33

Are you near a B&M? They had quite a lot of Friends stuff when I was last in and do big food and drink gifts that would pad out a sack eg big tubes of different Pringles or sweets, movie night popcorn etc.

Aponcetasticchristmastoall · 18/11/2020 20:36

Ooo like the bean bag idea, we used to have a couple that the girls loved but had to get rid as the cat kept peeing on them!!

Also love the multi pack of crisps idea...

Can I ask where you got the oodie from?

PhantomErik · 18/11/2020 20:38

Teddy bear fleece bedding - my DC LOVE it!
Blanket / cushion for her room
Dressing gown / pjs / slippers
Scarf / gloves / hat
Hoodie - sports / theme / favourite colour
Board game - Labyrinth
Fairy lights
Stationery supplies for school
Craft sets

orangenasturtium · 18/11/2020 21:01

Imperial Leather/Carex have a line of sweet flavoured shower gel, bubble bath and hand wash (Lovehearts, Refreshers etc) that are around £1.

I always raid the world food aisles at Tesco for unusual sweets, drinks and snacks as stocking fillers. Amazon have similar but are more expensive.

Aponcetasticchristmastoall · 18/11/2020 22:12

@superram it was Ebay, she asked for one with avocados on it and I thought surely that’s not a thing and it was literally the 1st one that popped up on Google!! Grin

Friends merchandise is everywhere ATM. B&M do lovely hot drink/ chilly style bottles with the Friends logo on, Home Bargains had Friends stationery and Primark have loads of Friends PJs and cropped hoodies.

MrJinxyCat · 19/11/2020 20:55

Trivial pursuit have a friends version
Friends Lego set, they have a cafe scene that looks cool.
Dunelm cuddle cushion for her reading comfort

Angbunnyboo · 19/11/2020 22:29

Superdrug have loads of Friends make up - little lip glosses and an eye compact that looks like Monicas door etc. It's the make up revolution stuff I think.

It's on 3 for 2 at the moment and there might be more offers on tomorrow for Black Friday.

Fueledwithfairydustandgin · 20/11/2020 08:01

Stuff that you might end up buying for her pony anyway things like mane and tail conditioner, hood grease, shampoo, likkit, treats for the pony

reluctantbrit · 20/11/2020 09:22

Practical stuff for the stable? DD loves her coffee cup (even if it only contains hot chocolate), new gloves, new socks, neckwarmer, new grooming kit, handwarmer/power bank for keeping warm

DD gets new hoodies she wears over the body proctetor and a thin thermal top for underneath, she prefers them to wearing a coat.

Lush bath bombs are a treat here or any other luxery shower gel and body lotion.

Pillow/blanket for her bed

Nonamesavail · 20/11/2020 13:14

I got mine the Teddy bear fleece bedding and that looked big in the Xmas bag.

Aponcetasticchristmastoall · 20/11/2020 15:23

Thanks everyone, I’d seen the friends makeup and had added that to my list and chuffed it was on 3for2

It might seem a bit extra but pony does get a stocking with stuff listed above, I justify by saying we’d be buying anyway (and we do pad out with a lot of carrots apples and polos) but girls love leaving stocking at stable doors and then in the morning they are full, it will be a Christmas tradition I won’t ever forget so I’m a big emotionally blinkered!! 😂

I did get her few Friends games for her birthday but as she is the only one that really likes it none of us were very good!!!

The Lego was expensive last time I looked!!

When did "stocking fillers" become "sack bulkers" 🤣

Aponcetasticchristmastoall · 20/11/2020 15:45

@KitKatastrophe but you’re presuming our Christmas looks the same as your Christmas...

Santa brings both a stocking and a Sack here.

OP posts:
KitKatastrophe · 20/11/2020 15:47

I've never heard of "sack bulkers" is all. I know some people have a big sack instead of a stocking but the contents are still "stocking fillers".

reluctantbrit · 20/11/2020 16:12

@KitKatastrophe a colleague puts all presents from Santa into a sack, they don’t do stockings.
Presents from parents are wrapped under the tree.
