Thread 20 - the one with the reminder to put the bargain info *in bold*

Reastie · 15/11/2020 21:49

please post any bargain info IN BOLD to make it easier to scroll through the thread.

To make things bold you:
Put a star each side of what you want to make bold like this but without the space between the star and the writing *

Just a reminder you can watch the thread by clicking on ‘watch this thread’ at the top of the first message. It’s much easier for everyone than so many place marking every time which can use up a fair chunk of each thread to scroll through Thanks

Here’s Barbarara’s instructions from last year on doing clicky links:

Open double square brackets

Paste link
Space
Name of link
No space
Close double square brackets

Like this
[[www.amazingbargains.com bargain ]] but with no space after/before the brackets.
If I do it again without the extra spaces only the word bargain will appear in blue

For more links etc see message 2

If any link doesn’t work or you want to add something please let me know by @ing me Thanks

Thanks for the new thread. I made the chocolate brownies from the baking set yesterday and they were delicious.

tinyradish · 16/11/2020 11:47

I've just made the brownies now too & they're amazing! Brownies for lunch it is...

tinyradish · 16/11/2020 11:49

So I've no idea what slightly older kids like as I have toddlers. Would a 10 year old boy enjoy Dobble does anyone know? If not, what other game might be suitable around the same price? (Gone for a game theme for the kids this year.)

Freshcoatofpaint · 16/11/2020 11:50

Thanks @ILikeBiscuits. Clever idea. The item I want is only £7 so I don't really want to pay postage (or the hassle of returning other items) when I'd normally pick it up in a real shop. Think I'll have to wait for the shops to re-open.

lolarabbit · 16/11/2020 11:52

@oatmilkisntsobad - I have a 10 off 50 I could PM you if you're going for the expensive one or are buying other stuff (though can't really see much difference between the £30 and £60 versions! - I have the catalogue sitting next to me Grin). Expires 18th.

slithytoveisascientist · 16/11/2020 11:53

@tinyradish exploding kittens is good for that age

PinkJam · 16/11/2020 11:54

@LiverbirdNo1 Yes I do. Will PM it to you Smile

PinkDaydreams · 16/11/2020 11:54

@lolarabbit thank you, I'll look at how many reviews the reviewer has left, I didn't realise that was an option

Fuckingfuckssake · 16/11/2020 11:55

Me again 🙄 did I see mention of a discount code for Boden yesterday? I've scrolled back through the last thread but I can't find it, or the search function.

Grytviken · 16/11/2020 12:04

I've just made the superfood bakery banana bread mix and it is indeed rancid, it did smell a bit funny when I opened the packet, but I went ahead (stupidly) and it smelt great coming out of the oven but has a very strange flavour and a terrible after taste, I think the rancid element is the dried banana chips.

LiverbirdNo1 · 16/11/2020 12:10

@PinkJam thank you! I will keep an eye out for it

TheCrow · 16/11/2020 12:11

@tinyradish we love dobble, I think it's a great game for all ages and a 10 year old would enjoy it

tinyradish · 16/11/2020 12:14

Thank you! @slithytoveisascientist & @TheCrow

@tinyradish My 10 year old loves Dobble Smile

Lovemusic33 · 16/11/2020 12:42

Thanks for the new thread. Stuck at home with dd waiting for a covid test result so I might as well try and finish my Christmas shopping. Only have the awkward people left to buy for. I need gifts for....

A 10 year old boy who likes football (£10 max)
My 94 year old grandmother
My dad who has everything because if he wants something he buys it.
My mum (might wait for Black Friday for hotel chocolate deals)
A few bits for dd1 (16) to bulk her pile out, not girly, very geeky.

Just about to go look on ASOS as they have a ‘up to’ 50% off sale
Animal have up to 70% off bags and purses
Qwertee has 25% off (but worth waiting for their £5 sale).

Dolphintrainer · 16/11/2020 12:46

@Grytviken I made the banana bread and we didn’t like it. Most of it went in the bin. had the email about the rancid batch so assumed ours was affected. Either that or we just didn’t like the mix. I’ve been quiet about it - until just reading your comment on dried banana chips. There was no dried banana chips in my box. How strange! Not sure what’s gone on with that batch!

Rockhopper81 · 16/11/2020 12:49

@MummaPI - that's the kind of simplicity that appeals, as I'm far more likely to use something that is straightforward!

Thank you for the recommendation, off to look it up. Smile

Dolphintrainer · 16/11/2020 12:50

@Fuckingfucksake Boden - it’s 25% off womenswear with a few exceptions like loungewear. Should deduct automatically but if it doesn’t the code is H7V9
