Thread 20 - the one with the reminder to put the bargain info *in bold*

please post any bargain info IN BOLD to make it easier to scroll through the thread.

To make things bold you:
Put a star each side of what you want to make bold like this but without the space between the star and the writing *

Just a reminder you can watch the thread by clicking on ‘watch this thread’ at the top of the first message. It’s much easier for everyone than so many place marking every time which can use up a fair chunk of each thread to scroll through Thanks

Here’s Barbarara’s instructions from last year on doing clicky links:

Open double square brackets
No space
Paste link
Space
Name of link
No space
Close double square brackets

Like this
[[www.amazingbargains.com bargain ]] but with no space after/before the brackets.
If I do it again without the extra spaces only the word bargain will appear in blue

For more links etc see message 2

If any link doesn’t work or you want to add something please let me know by @ing me Thanks

I'm done too (other than the Secret Santa, but I've not been told who that is yet)!

I'm still on here though! Xmas Grin

manzilkid · 17/11/2020 16:34

@TheRosariojewels

If anyone has an unwanted Boden voucher going spare...I'd be very grateful.
Have just sent you a pm
GirlWithTheYellowHat · 17/11/2020 16:39

Does anyone have code for the vans website. I can get a 10% code if I join the mailing list but wasn't sure if there was anything better out there.

I'm struggling to get the size on any other site so having to go direct. Smile

wildroseandpink · 17/11/2020 16:43

Not to be overdramatic but ASDA have just ruined Christmas.
Ordered some christmas decs in my shop - 2 daschund baubles and our initials - no daschund decs and 1 letter missing :( also conveniently the letter of the newly adopted old dog who is having her first ever home after 6 years of abuse.

I know the dog has no idea but I can't have children so these are my babies.

Going to strop in the corner.

wildroseandpink · 17/11/2020 16:44

Also we have Unidays and Student Beans - so let me know if anyone needs a code (theyre unique for each shop so let me know which one and I can PM)

PinkJam · 17/11/2020 16:52

@wildroseandpink I hope you can find some similar decorations elsewhere. And I hope you all have a lovely Christmas. I’m sure the new doggy addition to your family will make it even more special Smile

I checked uni days and can't find one for vans directly, there's a 10% off for office though

mummabear74 · 17/11/2020 17:30

@weebarra depending on the age of the recipient we bought our 10 year old DD a hairdressing styling head instead of a toy one

BeaLola · 17/11/2020 17:42

some very helpful people helped me out re air dry clay - Q please - I need to write on the decorations I have made once dry (trying to carve names was too hit/miss especially with long names) - can I use metallic paint or would some sort of metallic marker work ? TIA

lifelongfrugaleer · 17/11/2020 17:46

I got 30% off on vans website a few weeks ago so might be worth holding out if you have the nerve.

There's a cuddly blue dragon on the English heritage site for a tenner which is rather less cutesy...

GiantKitten · 17/11/2020 18:09

@Jacopone re quirky posters, there’s a website/app called Fy! that has some lovely stuff (though a bit dear IMO)

yafilthyanimalandahappynewyear · 17/11/2020 18:12

Shoes International have 15% off for one week only with code LD15
I've used these to buy Dr Martens before and they were cheaper than anywhere else for the boots I wanted at the time!

BendyBusBuggy · 17/11/2020 18:13

@sugarplumfairy2010 brandalley have some Christmas duvets in single (although most are double and king size)

GirlWithTheYellowHat · 17/11/2020 18:17

Thanks @flutterbean, office don't have the ones I want Sad

bookish83 · 17/11/2020 18:22

Superfood Bakery £10 offer

Does anyone feel a bit nervous to cook these or give as gifts since the rancid bananas?

I made the pancakes... i am unsure if I'm just expecting a problem now or whether gluten free flour has a different taste!

thaegumathteth · 17/11/2020 18:26

@sugarplumfairy2010 I ordered singles from eBay and Amazon today if that's any use?

hiredandsqueak · 17/11/2020 18:27

@wildroseandpink I found Asda customer service really good when I emailed about an item missing from my order. Got a prompt repl and a replacement sent straight away. Rescue dogs are great, ours was nine when she came here, she'd had an awful life, it took no time at all for her to become the diva she is now who expects a good life and huffs at anything not up to par.

wildroseandpink · 17/11/2020 18:33

@hiredandsqueak thanks. It doesn’t surprise me that they were unavailable as I know sausage dogs are popular. I think the lockdown depression is taking it’s toll! This thread in the weirdest way has made me feel so much better - I love seeing what people buy and all the deals!

myhobbyisouting · 17/11/2020 18:34

@bookish83 yes. I'm going to bake something this weekend but I'm a bit Confused about it.

What would "rancid" baking ingredients do exactly? Just taste horrid or actually make you ill?

I have no idea and that is what worries me! I don't want to be ill from making bargain cake....

Just annoying really! The pancakes are probably fine but the seed has been planted now.
