please post any bargain info IN BOLD to make it easier to scroll through the thread.

To make things bold you:
Put a star each side of what you want to make bold like this but without the space between the star and the writing *

Just a reminder you can watch the thread by clicking on ‘watch this thread’ at the top of the first message. It’s much easier for everyone than so many place marking every time which can use up a fair chunk of each thread to scroll through Thanks

Here’s Barbarara’s instructions from last year on doing clicky links:

Open double square brackets
No space
Paste link
Space
Name of link
No space
Close double square brackets

Like this
[[www.amazingbargains.com bargain ]] but with no space after/before the brackets.
If I do it again without the extra spaces only the word bargain will appear in blue

For more links etc see message 2

If any link doesn’t work or you want to add something please let me know by @ing me Thanks

@IfyoushouldmeetaCrocodile

Bit of a weird one but.... when we were kids one of the most exciting parts of putting the decs up was taking down the lampshades and putting up like fold out paper stars instead, they had hundreds of little cut out stars so made the patterns all over the room when the light was on. I saw similar again about 20 years ago at a Christmas market but never anywhere else. I'd love to track something similar down for my own DC. Can anyone help?...
I'm not sure if it's the same thing you're after but IKEA do fold out paper lampshades that makes shapes on the wall. See here they have a few others too

Ah! I see great minds think alike and I should have read through the thread first Grin

lolarabbit · 14/11/2020 23:57

@Foggyday124 Not sure if this might help (website for independent bookshops). I put the author in the search but wasn't sure if what came up were the right ones...

myhobbyisouting · 15/11/2020 00:25

Looking for personalised coasters if anyone can recommend?

Photo box were good last time and gave 50% off but in case anyone knows of other bargains please?

theclockticksslowly · 15/11/2020 00:35

I’m looking for an Amaryllis bulb gift for an elderly neighbour. Ideally one that comes complete with pot, nicely presented. Has anyone come across any (bonus points for being bargainous but reliable!).

buckeejit · 15/11/2020 01:03

@ZIGGY911 b the Show 8 was £60 I think or maybe £50-will check, but you really need a stand also which is £25. I'm wondering whether stands might com down on Black Friday or if it's worth buying a 3D printed one cheaper. I bought one for us & one for my folks but it's a pain to sit in position for them to see us & my mum just doesn't bother! She likes the kudos in the old folk circles that comes with using technology though! 🤣

TheLastStarfighter · 15/11/2020 01:15

@margaritasbythesea it was one of these, and I’m a bit Shock having just now seen the price of it. It was a present from DH.

EvilHerbivore · 15/11/2020 01:19

Does anyone know of a place that has collated all the possible theatre that I could look at to book for Christmas Eve?
We usually go to the local pantomime but that's not running at the minute and saw someone mentioned the old Vic but wondered if there was a site that has every show that could be booked to watch online this Christmas?

slithytoveisascientist · 15/11/2020 01:23

@theclockticksslowly Lidl have them in at the moment, think they were under a fiver and very pretty

@Someaddedsugar

Thanks *@Reastie and @Shitfuckoh* - I'll get the stocking and it may have to be a DIY effort for the tree! I think maybe I've left it too late and DS spotted it when we were looking on Pinterest for Christmas craft things. Thank you both so much - I've never seen that site before.
Is the Lanka kade tree any good?
Changingagain · 15/11/2020 06:52

There's some Playmobil on amazon daily deals today with good reductions. We got ds this last year and he loves it. rocket

NoWordForFluffy · 15/11/2020 06:59

@Reastie, Vodafone has a 60% off code for Photobox on their rewards page, so slightly better than the 50% they're offering. If you want it let me know (I think it'll have a one hour validity, so we'd have to coordinate actions!). I got the coasters before and they're lovely.

Tigger83 · 15/11/2020 07:01

@Carrie76 https://uk.giesswein.com/products/wool-slippers-dannheim/discount?gclid=EAIaIQobChMIgJqlgv2D7QIVPBoGAB22swlFEAQYBSABEgKkkDBwE my husband has these, they often do codes/discounts. I want a women's pair for Christmas. They're really light weight but warm, not hot, and don't smell!!

Reastie · 15/11/2020 07:02

@NoWordForFluffy @farnworth is the photobox tagging for someone else?

OP posts:
NoWordForFluffy · 15/11/2020 07:04

Ah, sorry. It's early! 😂

Foggyday124 · 15/11/2020 07:05

Yes it does lolarabbit thank you so much! I usually buy books from Amazon and I had no idea about ‘your’ website. Thank you.

NoWordForFluffy · 15/11/2020 07:05

It's @myhobbyisouting who wants coasters.

farnworth · 15/11/2020 07:07

Sorry Reastie
It was meant to be for @myhobbyisouting
Another person suffering from early morning brain fog 😔

Twilightstarbright · 15/11/2020 07:08

Any beginner Lego sets anyone can recommend? Not Duplo!
DSIL says 4yo nephew is interested in Lego and wants some for Christmas. PIL are buying a huge brick of pieces and I wanted to get some sort of set- the Toy Story ones look good but are there any others?

mummyof2boys30 · 15/11/2020 07:08

@SnotRockets

Wow you lot are fast! Thanks for all the choc orange recommendations! I don't know if I do have any premier stores near me- I'll have a google! I can't really afford to buy 12 of them haha!
My work has them, in Northern Ireland though 😂 would cost more to post than the orange itself
princessbear80 · 15/11/2020 07:23

@Twilightstarbright my four year old’s favourite Lego set is a police helicopter that has a little net that can be fired out.
