Anyone else putting the Christmas decorations up earlier than usual?

We usually put the tree and outside lights up about the first or second week in December but this year we’re thinking of doing it much earlier.
The idea is to try to cheer everyone up, teenage DCs are keen so I’ve just got to persuade DH. I’m thinking of around a month earlier. Anyone else thinking the same? It’s been such a horrid year so anything positive has got to be good.

I'm strictly mid December, though the DC think I'm Scrooge. I love it when the tree is up, but never want it up early.

Tone and content dictate whether it's being used as opinion, or whether they seemingly actually have a problem in understanding that people are doing things differently because that's what people do.

You can't just say 'it's a turn of phrase' without looking at content, tone etc.

I'm happy with my assessment of what's being written / communicated, thanks all the same!

I've just pre-ordered a lovely little live tree because of this thread!

I hate putting decorations up. One of my kids is autistic and he is already talking about Xmas and obsessively getting excited about presents. However, I love a simple, sparkly tree by the window so will be going for first week in December and a nice wreath for the door.

We normally put ours up in the first weekend of December but after the year its been we're going to put them up early. I'm thinking mid November... I love looking at the tree and decs twinkling away at night.
DH just bought me a light up ceramic Xmas tree which I love, I've been after one for ages.
I too have a Christmas notebook! Very helpful to stay organised re decorations, batteries needed, gift lists, etc.

Yes we are planning to put them up a bit earlier this year. Sometime towards the end of November, not sure when.

We usually put the tree up about a week before but this year it will be the first Friday in December as we really need some festive cheer this year. I expect lots of others will be doing the same.

Several neighbours already have their trees up. Looks naff imho.

I can't bear all the faffing to put it up any earlier than 2nd week in December though, pretty as it looks. By the time Christmas actually rolls round, the magic of it all would be gone for me so I'm sticking to the schedule this year!

That ceramic Christmas tree sounds lovely Freshfields. Where did you get it from?
