I'm completely stuck this year. I have two DS aged 5 and 8. They love lego and playing minecraft on their tablets.
So far I've bought a tablet bean bag thingy, glow in the dark pens and some books. I'm going to struggle to get to the shops without them this year.
Hoping mumsnet will be a good source of inspiration.

My ds will be 6 early next year. He’s having a wooden farm and lots of schleich animals, he also wants some cars, tractors etc, some dressing up outfits, a builders toy belt, and soft toys. He’s not really into playing games on his iPad.

Lillysnotroses · 10/10/2020 09:01

I’m getting DS - ninetendo Switch. Snakes and ladders the traditional version. A couple of other small items. He’s 5.

drspouse · 10/10/2020 09:09

DS is nearly 9 and he's getting a 10 year old Wii and Mario games.
DD is 6 and I think she's getting a Lego lighthouse. She wants a scooter but I kind of feel it's better to stick to her bike as it's more of a family thing to do and her school is 3 minutes away up a muddy hill (drop off at back gates due to COVID) so it won't help with that, town is down a steep hill so guess who's carrying it coming back? Not me.
DS loves Dog Man and there's a new one coming out. DD I might get a magazine or book subscription.

OhioOhioOhio · 10/10/2020 09:13

I'm getting mine loads of Galt craft.

burglarbettybaby · 10/10/2020 09:15

I've two (6 and 7)

Police station lego
Other bits and pieces (possibly a build a bear for youngest)

Aroundtheworldin80moves · 10/10/2020 09:16

My DDs (7&9) are getting mainly camping equipment. (9yo has a tent, 7yo a sleeping bag upgrade, then theres backpacks, Sims, sporks, camping towels...)

CaptainMerica · 10/10/2020 09:18

Mario lego, snap circuits, remote control fighting robots

TheRosariojewels · 10/10/2020 09:40

My 5 year old wants Mario Lego and Ninjago

Notso · 10/10/2020 10:01

Mine are 8 and 9

They've asked for segways and a drum kit Hmm
Instead I'm thinking hoverboards with the gokart attachment, mario Lego, new switch controllers as theirs are glitchy, a game from The Happy Puzzle Co- they love the genius square.
Nine year old also really wants a terrarium so I'm going to do him a kit and eight year old would like a reading light and more books.

tiddledpink · 10/10/2020 10:03

*Hot Wheels / Disney Cars
*Marvel 1000 piece jigsaws

IggyAce · 10/10/2020 10:05

Ds 9 is getting the Lego Ninjago land bounty. Skate board and safety equipment. I’ll get him some controller shaped bath bombs from Mrs Snowballs Bubble boutique.

ForthPlace · 10/10/2020 10:18

Outdoor toys, equipment and clothing , including those to support 'forest school' type activities.
Feels so much healthier (mentally and physically) at the minute.

And bikes...but a little note of caution, the bike shop have delayed delivery...we placed the order in September, bikes were available on the website, however not due until November as the manufacturers are struggling with the supply of tubular steel due to the pandemic.
Order early folks.

Nodancingshoes · 10/10/2020 12:34

I'm finding 10 a really hard age to buy for this year...Just a bit too old for toys but not old enough for most tech stuff. I'll probably go for something like fortnite and roblox figures, bobbleheads and xbox accessories. I'm debating a phone (he has my old samsung one at the moment) but not sure hes old enough to really need or look after this.

Nodancingshoes · 10/10/2020 12:36

He has asked for a bearded dragon but I have abit of a lizard phobia so this is a no-go!!

NoWordForFluffy · 10/10/2020 14:02

DS is 6 and wants a Fitbit plus a critical mass of Lego!

I've got him some books, colouring stuff and other bits and bobs too.

6 and 8 nearly 9.

6 year old also now into Lego - he has asked for minecraft and police Lego. Also some ninjago dress up stuff and swords.

9 year old likes technic Lego now and was hankering after the main square but it’s v expensive. Particularly as he also is desperate for a football team kit!

@Nodancingshoes - my eldest also asked for a bearded dragon! Sadly he’s going to be disappointed ...

littlestpogo · 10/10/2020 15:42

Oh and they still both like receiving lots of rolls of sellotape Confused. So they will get that and possibly a glue gun for kids ...

Notso · 10/10/2020 16:40

@PhantomErik what are the Nerf target/bags please? Sound like something mine would be interested in Smile

Pascha · 10/10/2020 16:44

For our two 7 and 10 we're veering towards:

Camera
Ps vita thing? (Ds1 wants this. I have no idea)
Mario odyssey Switch game
Smoothie maker
Gravitrax extension bits
Toy cars

That's it so far. They won't get all of that, one big thing each and some additional bits.
