If you have boys aged 5 to 10, what are you getting them?

I'm completely stuck this year. I have two DS aged 5 and 8. They love lego and playing minecraft on their tablets.
So far I've bought a tablet bean bag thingy, glow in the dark pens and some books. I'm going to struggle to get to the shops without them this year.
Hoping mumsnet will be a good source of inspiration.

Notso these ones from Amazon, they look good for keeping the darts tidy & giving them something to aim at rather than each other!

6 year old DS. I'm think about...

Nintendo Switch
Minecraft switch game
Another switch game
Switch controller
Maybe basketball set of some kind
Lego
Shark cuddly
Playmobil caravan
Sweets

I find xmas hard. If I ask him what he wants he just says the next thing he sees on telly, then insists that's the thing (then never plays with it, I'm looking at you stupid Air Patroller)

BexR · 10/10/2020 16:59

Oh and a board game

MistyMinge2 · 11/10/2020 09:21

Lots of great ideas, thank you.

I ordered two minecraft hoodies last night. It seems they're popular. Loads I clicked on were sold out in most sizes. Managed to find some on amazon. I also got nice felt tip pen sets in Lidl yesterday whilst food shopping.

Ds1 has a birthday in 2 weeks too. 🤦‍♀️

My DS has asked for Mario Lego for Christmas. I'm not 100% convinced he'll play with it, but it's the only thing he's asked for so we'll get it.

A few Minecraft things to suggest that we have purchased recently:
Minecraft Woodsworth Chronicles Books (There are 5 out in total)
Smyths have various Minecraft swords/shields
Minecraft Maps book
Minecraft Guides collection

Dss is 9 - Mario Lego and a bunk bed!

Mustbethewine · 11/10/2020 14:38

Ds1 and ds2 (9 and 8) have asked for Rollerblades, lego, some figurines. Ds1 has asked for the new xbox series and v bucks and ds2 has asked a new tablet and headphones

Stompythedinosaur · 11/10/2020 18:01

Mine are dds but their gifts aren't particularly gendered - they are getting a hoverkart and a Harry potter lego set as main gifts.

My 9yo has got hugely into skateboarding their year, so that's a gift id recommend too.

Libmama · 11/10/2020 18:10

Ds is 6 and he’s getting a very much wanted Nintendo switch from us and MARIO kart and minecraft for it from grandparents

Iseeyoulookingatme · 11/10/2020 18:57

Ds 7 is getting :
Minecraft dungeons for his switch
I've also got him a couple of books to go with it
Sonic switch game
2x Harry Potter Lego sets
Loads of hot wheels track bits
Books
Bath bombs
Craft bits and bobs
A small nerf gun

Plus stocking fillers.

I might also get him some minecraft clothing and some trainers if I see any about oh and a Guinness world record book.

drspouse · 12/10/2020 08:23

DS has asked for a toy speedboat Hmm but more realistically a Looshkin t-shirt.

Margaritawithlime · 12/10/2020 08:30

DS 5 wants anything and everything Pokemon themed. I’m hesitant as we have fallen for his fads before but this one might be longer lasting...
At the moment he’s getting new rugby boots, Lego, some games to play like dobble and a replacement uno. Also maybe a watch as it’s the only other thing he’s consistently asked for. There’s still time to change! Loving the ideas on here

Notso · 12/10/2020 10:24

Thanks @PhantomErik they look great Smile

MistyMinge2 · 12/10/2020 18:58

I've bought more:

A camo lounge onesie from M&S each (made of tracksuit bottom type material instead of fleecy)

A glow in the dark skeleton craft set from M&S

I'm finding a lot of things I'm looking at either low on stock or out of stock.

DS is 9.5, he's getting:

Hoverboard
Wireless Xbox headphones
New Liverpool shirt

And then things like Liverpool calendar, chocolate, books, a blanket, he also wants a Lynx gift set!

TheChosenTwo · 12/10/2020 19:44

Ds will be 9 soon.
For birthday and Christmas (don’t know what will be for what, these are just some ideas we have so far, depending on what we choose we might not get everything)...
A 6ft pool table, switch games, switch headset, Mario Lego sets, Harry Potter onesie, some board games, craft stuff to encourage his fine motor skills, football kit, goalkeeping gloves, frisbee and some other outdoor toys.
Don’t know what else, some will be from us, some will be from family, will do him a stocking at Christmas with the usual lush, blind bags, chocolate, teddy, torch, books, probably some small Lego sets, anything else that will fit in that’s from His Father Christmas letter...
