I love the house smelling festive, especially as it’s starting to get colder.

I prefer plum/spiced scents rather than pine or fir etc. And while I’m happy to pay for quality I don’t particularly want to spend big bucks on a candle, so slightly more budget friendly would be great!

My absolute favourite Christmas smell os candy cane forest by yankee candle, just smells totally of christmas, home bargins do a really good dupe for £2.99 Smile

VirginiaWolverine · 01/10/2020 11:17

The White Company's Winter Range is the perfect Christmas scent for me. It's a spicy, orangy sort of smell. The candles etc are hideously expensive, but the scented oil is a bargain. It's £8 for a bottle which will scent my house for the whole winter with some left over.

Piccalino3 · 01/10/2020 12:17

White Company winter here too. It's
My absolute fave. Although it's not cheap I only buy a few candles for the season and they last. It brings me great joy!

Zaphodsotherhead · 01/10/2020 12:59

Watching - as I can't bear cinnamon and everything Christmassy apparently has to be laced with cinnamon! White Company looks good.

Ilovemycat13 · 01/10/2020 13:00

I love candy cane by Yankee candle. Can’t wait for it to come back!

AriettyHomily · 01/10/2020 13:45

My Yankee candle shop is shut, are they all?!

FizzyPink · 01/10/2020 17:12

I really like the cheap Air Wick Christmas scented candles you get in supermarkets. Unfortunately they just don’t look very attractive.

Sainsbury’s had some last night that looked exactly the same as the white company ones where they have the berries inside the candle. I’ll pick one up tomorrow to test whether they smell as good

thelegohooverer · 01/10/2020 17:16

Tisserand Seasonal Joy is the smell of Christmas to me. I put a couple of drops on pine cones and leave them in a bag to develop, and put a drop on the back of a radiator now and then. I don’t like it to be over whelming so a little bottle lasts me ages (years)

doadeer · 01/10/2020 17:27

White company Fir Tree

Yankee used to do a lovely one called Christmas in Paris I think but it was discontinued.

I usually get some Christmas blend oils off amazon.

And anything orange and cinnamon!

Coldwinterahead1 · 01/10/2020 17:42

Gingerbread candle in Home Bargains

HowLongToXmas · 01/10/2020 17:58

There are some pumpkin-scented candles in HomeSense and they are delicious and have great throw.

firsttimemumma123 · 01/10/2020 18:02

Yankee Candle - Christmas Memories smells incredible but they seem to have discontinued it! Luckily I have half a candle left for this year but I like the idea of White Company -Winter in oil form as they smell very similar to me

sueelleker · 01/10/2020 19:21

@helegohooverer Do you have pets? Some essential oils are toxic to animals, and we have 2 dogs.

funnyoldonion · 01/10/2020 20:57

Ooh, I will have to try the white company oil sounds lovely!

MrsSchadenfreude · 01/10/2020 21:03

@firsttimemumma123 you can get the Christmas Memories candle from Amazon.

HumphreyGoodmanswife · 01/10/2020 21:05

White Company - 'Winter' room spray. Smells delicious and lasts for ages. I had 1 spray that lasted for the last 2 years and, surprisingly, didn't alter the scent over that time

Malachite234 · 01/10/2020 21:10

I like the M&S range of oils.

LunaNorth · 01/10/2020 21:11

It’s not Christmas without a White Company Winter candle.

GETTINGLIKEMYMOTHER · 01/10/2020 22:13

M&S Mandarin, Clove and Cinnamon, lovely Christmassy smell.

TheSeedsOfADream · 01/10/2020 22:28

I have the ginormous Yankee jars of:
Crackling Wood Fire
The Perfect Tree
Christmas Garland
Christmas Magic
Evergreen Mist
Christmas Memories
Christmas Eve

And love each one. Have started lighting one a day over the last week or so and it just makes the world seem better. I need more red rich fruity ones this year (Amazon will soon start knocking money off the big jars, and I end up buying all of them Blush)

Also White Company Winter. I have some of the ceramic decorations from there and the oil that comes with them really does fill the house.

nevermorelenore · 01/10/2020 22:35

Not the fanciest of candles, but I love the Glade apple and cinnamon candle they start selling around this time of year. They only cost about £2 when they're on sale. I have a half-used one in my xmas decorations box, so when I open it up, everything smells like xmas.

I'm currently working through a lovely pumpkin and ginger candle from Next. It's perfect for this time of year when it's too early for xmas candles and you want something autumnal.

ColouringPencils · 02/10/2020 01:18

Any recommendations for candles that smell of trees/ greenery/outdoors? I feel like I get too much of the cinnamon and spice. Thanks!

TeddyIsaHe · 02/10/2020 06:15

These are fab, thank you. There’s a White Company in town so I’m going to go have a sniff today. I forgot about the Glade as well, I love that scent, plus cheap as chips Grin

@ColouringPencils M&S have pine/fir candles in when they get their Xmas stuff in. I know Yankee Candle definitely do some as well.

TheSeedsOfADream · 02/10/2020 06:16

The White Company has one called For Tree (I haven't tried it but may get it this year)
The Yankees I listed:
Perfect Tree, Christmas Garland and Evergreen Mist have all got that "cold green " Christmas vibe rather than the I'm baking with cinnamon vibe 😂

ColouringPencils · 02/10/2020 07:12

Thanks @TeddyIsaHe and @TheSeedsOfADream will go for a sniff of those! Yes, occasionally I want to bake with cinnamon, but not all winter long! Grin Also find the spicy ones are often too sweet for me and give me a headache.
