skate boards 10 & 13 year old girls

one would also like a wildlife camera (to film the mice in the garden)

I8toys · 24/09/2020 09:25

DS's 17 and 15 - x box x series. They can get it as a joint present - preordered the x and the s so may decide to keep both or just the x nearer the time. They will have cold hard cash, games and other bits and bobs.

OohMrDarcy · 24/09/2020 09:45

DS 10 (will be 11 a week after christmas) - zero ideas so far... will probably ask for minecoins etc like last year... may hint for a switch which won't be happening as he is already screen obsessed and basically switches between xbox / tablet / phone games as and when I kick him off something!

DD 13 (will be 14 a month after christmas) - is desperate for a TV / DVD in her room. I've surprised myself by deciding she can have one. I'm one of those annoying parents that doesn't like TVs upstairs, but she's sensible and would only use with permission or when friends over so I'm not worried - and also want to reward her lack of screen obsession with some trust!

Anyone's getting the mario Lego? Can you just buy any set or is there a starter set you have to buy first?

After raging about the price of the starter set and telling my ds to get a more reasonable price set for his birthday, we discovered that yes you do need the starter set, it's the only set that includes Mario who works off the parts in the other sets. The other sets are pointless without it. Luckily my dsis had got the starter set for ds.
Someonesayroadtrip · 24/09/2020 11:17

@Lazysundayafternoons thanks, did he like it? My mum told me they needed a starter kit but there was no information on the websites to say that. Going to be some disappointed kids on Christmas morning.

OP posts:
Lazysundayafternoons · 24/09/2020 11:24

Yes @Someonesayroadtrip he does love it.

Mario has like a scanner underneath him and can scan off parts of the other sets to collect coins/lose lives etc like he would in the video game, and as far as I could see Mario cant be purchased separately so the starter set has to be bought. So if you dont buy the starter set with Mario in it, the scanning parts in the other sets are pointless.

DD 14 - turns 15 on Boxing Day (eek, I've just realised that she's getting OLD!!!!).

No ideas, asked for nothing yet, has grown out of lots of things, and just does sport and wears sports gear when not in school.

So the usuals of nice clothes, makeup, jewellery, won't work. She has all the tech she needs (except maybe a replacement set of headphones). Doesn't read for fun. Listens to music on spotify.

So far, I have 2 separate sets of different coloured sticky tabs for the sides of her books (exam year - to mark notes) to go in her stocking.

I'll be making a PJ bottoms for her. (And as she's grown since I bought the fabric, umm about 6 years ago Blush, buying a tshirt for the top). (I've finally got time for sewing again with lockdown).

And I might make a little zipped pouch for her earbuds, so they don't get lost in her schoolbag.

Otherwise, any ideas are welcome!!

12 and 16 and they are both getting a MacBook. I’m fed up of them battling for our old laptop.

Most expensive Christmas ever 😬

Merinocool · 24/09/2020 13:07

DS 16 doesn’t know what he wants, I’m thinking some new headphones, he will definitely add some Xbox games. He was thinking about a desktop pc earlier in the year. I’m amazed he hasn’t asked for the new Xbox to be honest.

DD 5 is desperate for a barbie dream house, some dressing up things and polly pocket.

tempnamechange98765 · 24/09/2020 13:13

Two boys, turning 5 and almost 2.

5 year old wants lots of toys mainly - Transformers, Octonauts Gups etc.

Little one is currently only 19 months and has no idea about anything Grin but is getting his own micro scooter which he'll love as he's forever stealing DS1's.

Cantthinkofausename · 24/09/2020 13:19

Ds15- new phone, accessories for xbox, aftershave clothes etc

Ds13-same as above

Ds10- phone, gaming chair, anything gaming related, clothes

charmsofasimplelife · 24/09/2020 13:54

My 3 year old (4 just before Christmas) wants blooming EVERYTHING this year! There's something new everyday.
Will this get worse every year now?!

I've bought her the playmobil fairy range so that will all keep her occupied for hours. She loves playmobil.
I've got her a few new dressing up outfits and wigs aswell. Then a few small bits for her stocking.

My 1 year old DD has got a happyland Noah's ark, a unicorn hopper, a dolls pram and her own doll, and a few teletubby bits and bobs.

Trying not to go mad this year, we have a huge family who all gift the girls too and previous years have just been overwhelming and chaotic with so much stuff.

ilovebagpuss · 24/09/2020 21:23

DD10 wants a white ferret to call Malfoy and some dumbbells to get stronger. She has also thrown out there a skateboard more books a telescope!
DD13 doesn’t ask for anything she is such a sweet soul I have to drag it out of her books big fluffy dressing gown maybe some new make up/perfume.

IggyAce · 24/09/2020 22:55

DD 14, iPhone, morphe pallet & perfume.

DS 9, Lego, skate board, Xbox game.

Bickles · 25/09/2020 06:14

Boy 8. Lego - all of it!

Morninglatte · 25/09/2020 07:01

DD8 - stunt scooter and Lego
DS6 - stunt scooter and football stuff
DS4 - everything he sees advertised on the TV!

Littered5 · 25/09/2020 07:06

DS-5 has not asked for anything as such but his birthday is not long after Xmas so I plan to buy him an Nintendo switch for his main present.

Aroundtheworldin80moves · 25/09/2020 07:29

DH had a brainwave last night... To buy DD9 her own hike tent so she doesn't borrow his. Means they can go expedition camping together.

Thecomfortador · 25/09/2020 07:36

Ds -5 by Christmas wants all the massive toys that Ryan plays with on Ryan's toys.... that'll be a no then. More realistically, a set of Russian dolls, Octonauts Gups and a remote controlled monster truck (dad's idea, funnily enough). Trying to get him a cheapish bike for his birthday which is near Xmas anyway.

Ds-2. Monster trucks, cars, Gups - to be fair he doesn't know what's going on anyway.

Iseeyoulookingatme · 25/09/2020 09:00

Ds 7 has asked for Harry Potter Lego and minecraft dungeons although he keeps adding other bits and bobs to the list which he will get a few of but not all.

Someonesayroadtrip · 25/09/2020 09:08

So asked mine last night.
DS 11 - spy things, walk-in talkies, five nights Freddy costume, and phone for his birthday in December

DS 9 - sheep related items (he had autism and is obsessed with sheep), baymax toys

DS 9 (they we twins) - Wants new cars for overdrive

DD 6 - lol and polly pocket items

Girl, 4, no bloody idea so following for some ideas :-D
She has a kindle fire 7, might buy her a new one, hers has 16gb on board memory which is full as some apps can't move to SD card (Disney plus!) so need one with higher memory.
She asks for barbie but doesn't play with them much, same with her frozen dolls and babies, she mainly plays with her toy kitchen feeding the cat, her build your own flower garden or her magnetic blocks.
