As I just don't have a clue for DD this year!

What are your five year old girls receiving?

they will be they will be [taps nose]

Hulababy · 11/10/2007 09:21

Oh I am sure DD would adore a huge pink unicorn - but where on earth do you keep them?!

Enid · 11/10/2007 09:22

end of dd1's bed

it is about five feet long

bozza · 11/10/2007 09:24

oh enid I remember the thread about you deliberating over whether to get it, and then coming back on and saying how much she loved it. Would certainly pass the size test hula.

Enid · 11/10/2007 09:26

yes the H-E-W-G-E parcel under the tree was eye-popping

Enid · 11/10/2007 09:27

dh was very anti

but honestly she still loves it 2 years later ditto all her little friends

Hulababy · 11/10/2007 09:27

I can imagine DH's thoughts on it, lol!

I think I need a visit with DD to Toys R Us for some ideas - or maybe start making her watch Nick Jr again so she is more wired up to the adverts!

OP posts:
Enid · 11/10/2007 09:30

@ nick jr

dont it is all K-RRR-A-P

Hulababy · 11/10/2007 09:32

At least she knew the adverts and would have a massive list of Christmas present ideas to inform me off then!!!! LOL

We shall have to have a window shopping trip to the toy shop instead then. Have a couple of presents to buy for children's birthdays - we can use that as the excuse.

She is totally HSM obsessed - so need to look at what is out for that, and what they are actually like. I alrready know I am not paying out £20 a doll for a HSM Barbie style doll!

Enid, dd has requested that Barbie Doll thing because apparently, it links up to their website (which she plays games on)? No doubt, it's expensive (grr!).

I can't remember what we got for dd when she was 5 - probably her bike and roller skates. She got her nintendo ds when she was 6 (keep an eye out for special offers - you can get them with certain games and accessory packs included in places like Argos and Amazon).

foxinsocks · 11/10/2007 09:43

oh other things that she liked were little craft packs made by Klutz. Think we got her the flower fairy one - you get all the little bits and make them yourself.

like this one

(also, if you are looking at roller skates, think we got dd's for something ridiculous like £5 in Sports World in a big sale, with all the safety stuff included)

Hulababy · 11/10/2007 13:27

Anyone got Those Bindez things? Any good?

And noticed the Barbie MP3 thing on a BBC article about top Christmas presents. The website tog o along side it doesn't seem to be up and running yet. Know when they come out?

OP posts:
Hulababy · 11/10/2007 13:29

foxinsocks - on that link it says the MP3 doll will sell for $70 in Canada. Not sure what that works out at over here.

OP posts:
PandaG · 11/10/2007 13:29

personally don't like bindeez - so similar to Hama really, and we've found they don't stick together very well - maybe DD added too much water?

How are you doing btw Hula?

mapleleaf · 11/10/2007 13:34

i saw the barbie mp3 for around £50 at woolworths online. i wouldn't get it for my 5 year old though. although she would probably love it !!

Hulababy · 11/10/2007 13:36

Thanks PandaG - don't think we will bother then!

I am fine thanks. back to work next Tuesday. Then two weeks before my holiday, and next op in November.

They appear to have those barbie Girl MP3 on the Argos website for just under £50. That can't be right can it - are they available yet?

OP posts:
Hulababy · 11/10/2007 13:37

here

Maybe they are available then?

Similar price to ipod mini thing then, so not too bad I guess.

PandaG · 11/10/2007 13:38

good - 2 weeks work then a week off sounds a good run back in to me

nailpolish · 11/10/2007 13:40

my dd1 is 5 and not interested in these. i thought they were more targeted towards older girls

nailpolish · 11/10/2007 13:40

ps

thats good to hear you are feeling better hula

Hulababy · 11/10/2007 13:41

Hmmm. Dd likes chance to use my iPod, and it is useful for travelling.

OP posts:
hana · 11/10/2007 18:36

$70 Cdn is about £35 - more after taxes are added

handlemecarefully · 11/10/2007 18:45

"Are the Cello sticker makers really that bad?? "

No they are not 'really that bad'. Just instruct your child on how to wind the handle and pull out the stickers and they won't break. Obviously tugging out the stickers the wrong way is inadvisable. Ours hasn't broken and dd (5) loves it. As for buying refill stuff how hard can it be

Hulababy · 11/10/2007 18:46

I am rubbish at remembering to get refills! At least I am honest
