If you could buy your DCs anything, what would it be?

For all of us-
A house for us all
A holiday somewhere amazing for us all
For dd1-
A room of her own
A Chromebook
All the art stuff
A wardrobe that she doesn't have to share with her sister
For dd2-
A room of her own (in the attic of our new house)
A Chromebook
As many vintage, bizarre clothes as she wants and a wardrobe big enough for them
All the art stuff
For ds-
BB8 Lego set
Nintendo Switch
Gaming chair
For dh-
A really big shed

movingonup20 · 19/09/2020 07:23

A car each and driving lessons, they are university students

movingonup20 · 19/09/2020 07:25

@dannydyerismydad

If you have space, look on Freecycle, there's often pianos for free

BetterEatCheese · 19/09/2020 07:31

Lots of whippets and a big house for us all to live in with a massive garden for zoomies

BetterEatCheese · 19/09/2020 07:32

Christmas though .... a gaming computer and complete vlogging set up

Tadpolesandfroglets · 19/09/2020 07:34

Boarding school . 😂

kavalkada · 19/09/2020 07:36

A house with a garden big enough so they can have their own rooms and a playroom where I can keep all their toys in one place.

ArticulateYourLife · 19/09/2020 07:44

What would you buy them to go under the tree, though? 🎄

Now, the Nanny might go along with being wrapped, but would definitely object to having to sit under the tree all night Grin

Tobebythesea · 19/09/2020 08:01

An amazing treehouse.

Wherearefoxssocks · 19/09/2020 08:06

A swing and slide, cosy coupe, alll the Brio. But he'd probably still just play with the remote control 🙄😂

WoobyWoo · 19/09/2020 08:26

A ridiculous gaming pc.

Snog · 19/09/2020 08:31

Nintendo switch and a dyson airwrap

KeeefBurtain · 19/09/2020 08:34

Dd17 top of the range art supplies.
Ds15 music recording equipment (and soundproofing for his room).
Ds3 has ASD and would love to be able to afford to make him a sensory room.
Dd1 a tri climb.

TheClitterati · 19/09/2020 08:45

North Korea. They keep asking ....

Catflapkitkat · 19/09/2020 08:48

DS and I are massive Below Deck fans so a week on a super yacht (with slide and toys) - probably Tahiti or the Bahamas with a hand picked dream team - Captain Lee and Ben the Chef

For DD a couple of Savannah kittens and an unlimited after hours trolly dash in H&M with her two best friends.

its2019ffs · 19/09/2020 09:04

For ds6 he has asd and his special interest is minecraft, I would love to pay someone to make life sized minecraft blocks and things so he could play in real life.

For dd3 a beautiful handmade bespoke dolls house

And for all of us- a Christmas trip to a cabin in Lapland and Disney world in the New Year, I'd love to see their little faces when we told them we are going.

Bagadverts · 19/09/2020 09:20

@LindaEllen

I'd love to be able to get my stepson a ps5. My partner asked him did he think he might like one and he replied no his ps4 was fine, but we're both fairly sure he's saying it because he knows we're short on cash at the moment. Seriously thinking about putting it on my credit card and getting him one for Christmas. He's had a rubbish year, and not just because of everything that's gone on!
This had made me feel happy. We hear so much on media about young people being greedy and spoilt.

I don’t have children of my own.

AHippoNamedBooBooButt · 19/09/2020 09:26

Ipads. Top of the range ones. My dc have only ever had the amazon fires that were £30.
The teens maybe the latest iPhone too.
And ds wants a gaming pc

So tech, lots of tech

TheGirlWhoLived · 20/09/2020 09:21

My kids have asked jointly for an iPad, but even if we get the one down, to get a brand new one is £350! Would have probably been doable without furlough, you never know though.

I’ve never let them down on a present before, more fool me! I’ve thought about credit but don’t really want to put us in any hardship... I currently have £60 towards it so hoping my balance might keep improving over the coming months!!

TheGirlWhoLived · 20/09/2020 09:24

For myself, I would get a really lovely candle or some bath stuff. Something beautiful to sit atop the tree, our fairy died a terrible death and tumbled 7ft onto concrete! And something cashmere or maybe a merino wool Knitted throw

lunar1 · 20/09/2020 09:36

For DS1 I would let him pick another instrument to learn and get him that plus lessons. He plays piano and guitar, but the guitar lessons are mostly self taught as I can't afford more.

He wants to learn either a brass instrument or cello but I can't afford it on top of what he already does.

DS2 is 9 and wants to be a zoo vet. He spends so much time learning about animals. I would love to be able to do further inspire him.

GarlicSoup · 20/09/2020 09:44

@NancyBotwinBloom

The house next door
Grin
jackstini · 20/09/2020 09:45

Rocket boots. DS has asked every birthday and Christmas since I can remember!

For dd, a house with huge grounds and a mini convertible so she can drive about legally (she's 14)

UntilYourNextHairBrainedScheme · 20/09/2020 09:55

A generously sized four bedroom house with garden in the very expensive but beautiful large town where our nearest secondary school is.

We live in a nice enough four bed house rurally but can't afford to move to town unless we moved to a two bed flat, which is not a viable plan with 2 teens of opposite sexes and a preteen!

It would be so very much better If the older two could walk to all the places they want to go including the train station to access the cities and a wealth of employment and training/ educational possibilities.

Where we live is fine though, we're lucky. It was great with toddlers and primary school children but now a house about 500 meters from the secondary and town center and walkable to the train station would be the best of both worlds, if I had a spare 1.5 million€ ...

@IsolaPribby what’s a gold barbie? Is it this one for the Christmas edition? She’s beautiful
