What would you buy your DCs if money were no object?

If you could buy your DCs anything, what would it be?

Firstly a bigger house 😆 More than anything else, DD would like a bigger bedroom. Hers is tiny. I'd give her the biggest room in the house, with a double bed and loads of space to play.

I know DS would love a proper gaming set up, whatever that entails- computers, screens, chair, green screen etc. I won't pretend to understand it all!

Bunnybigears · 18/09/2020 21:32

The only thing my kids really want/need is a house without damp so I would sort out the damp once and for all and maybe a loft conversion so DS2 has a room thats big enough for more than just a bed.

RoseMartha · 18/09/2020 21:36

A house instead of a flat

RoseMartha · 18/09/2020 21:37

Not that i am buying them a flat but we will all be moving to one

Gingerkittykat · 18/09/2020 21:50

A course of driving lessons, the tests and a sensible car with the first year's insurance paid.

Two years uni accommodation (I'm in Scotland, she is doing the first two years of her degree at FE college and no tuition to pay) but that might be more for my sanity than hers!

She is doing driving lessons right now so she can travel to uni easily while living at home. She is paying herself and will achieve it thanks to her own hard work but would be nice to give her that leg up.

Cherryrainbow · 18/09/2020 21:59

Probably just the games he wants for his various consoles, they keep him happy and they're pretty pricy so we don't buy often. He has got in the habit of saving his pocket money to get certain games so it would be nice to treat him to a few at once x

VashtaNerada · 18/09/2020 22:05

A new games console, new mobile phones. A whole wardrobe of clothes for DD to boost her confidence. Craft materials for DS and a lovely big desk for him to work at / store things. I’d love to redecorate their rooms. Stranger Things Lego for
DD, Minecraft Lego for DS. Harry Potter Build-A-Bears, one Gryffindor and one Hufflepuff (in fact this one I might actually do!)

anorangeaday · 18/09/2020 22:29

A big trampoline and I’d do the garden to look like a park, with a see saw and a roundabout and swings and slides.

dannydyerismydad · 18/09/2020 22:38

A baby grand piano. DS is constantly tinkling away on a little keyboard I had as a child. He would love his own real piano.

MrsAvocet · 18/09/2020 22:39

If money were literally no object I would buy my adult DD a new car, a flat and the business that she currently works for!
My elder son would get a car, holidays to a variety of places that he wants to visit, a new computer and a baby grand piano.
Younger son would get a selection of new bikes, better hockey kit, a Les Paul guitar and tickets to see Guns N Roses.

1stTimeMama · 18/09/2020 23:02

11yr old DD, all of the HP Lego.
7yr old DS, one of those mini tanks you can ride around in.
6yr old DS, a selection of real, authentic dinosaur bones.
4yr old DS and newborn, hmm, I'm really not sure!

bookmum08 · 18/09/2020 23:07

Well we got the Switch last year so there isn't really anything massively expensive that she wants. Obviously a few more games for it would be appreciated but really the things that actually give her the most pleasure are small things like Beanie Boo soft toys, craft things, lots of manga books. I think even if money was no object I wouldn't go for something unbelievably expensive because it would be something expensive for the sake of it.
I might splash out on some actual Sharpie pens rather than a cheapy version.

MojoJojo71 · 18/09/2020 23:09

For DS I’d pay off all his student loans

For DD I’d buy a house with a garden, we’ve missed having outside space during lockdown.

TheFormerPorpentinaScamander · 18/09/2020 23:12

DS1 - a theramin (autocorrect keeps changing that to therapist, also a possibility Grin)

DS2 - all the Harry Potter lego.

And if money really was no object we'd have a huge house with a lego room and a music room.

ThatBitch · 18/09/2020 23:14

All the Harry Potter Lego - to be dished out at intervals.

A puppy - the small dc desperately wants a cocker spaniel.

A pony. Dd would love one and would benefit so much from the experience of owning and riding one.

LizzieSiddal · 18/09/2020 23:20

Both are in their twenties so id put a cheque under the tree which was enough to buy them a house.

hahahahatake4cards · 19/09/2020 00:06

My DS wants one of those electric drive yourself cars. They have a pretend radio, opening doors, a gear stick and more importantly he would steer it using the steering wheel. I'm sure he'd put his foot down and speed off happily. He's 4, he's wanted one forever. He would be ecstatic to get it under the tree after all this time. 🚗 I wish I could make his dream come true, but £250 for one of the larger sized ones is out of my price range, as lots of the more affordable ones are made for toddlers.

Zoflorabore · 19/09/2020 00:25

Dd (9) everything from the American Girl store. She has 2 American Girls and they’ve a better wardrobe than me!

Ds (17) wants a huge house with loads of husky dogs, different types such as Alaskan Malamute, Siberian, Samoyed etc.

They don’t want much Grin

elliejjtiny · 19/09/2020 00:29

Swimming pool, massive swing/slide/climbing frame thing. I would get an extension added to the house and build them their own soft play.

VestaTilley · 19/09/2020 06:28

A house, so we could stop renting, an old fashioned rocking horse, and a big wooden climbing frame/swing set for the garden.

thelegohooverer · 19/09/2020 07:06

I’d hire a full time Lego-sorter person who would work through the night.
I’d drill down to create several basement layers so that we could fit the ice rink, swimming pool and bowling alley without having to move house.
And I’d buy the Lego Death Star and Fiagon Alley as stocking fillers.

Coldwinterahead1 · 19/09/2020 07:08

A Nanny

VirginiaWolverine · 19/09/2020 07:10

A Nintendo Switch and games to go with it.

An ipad, an Apple pencil and Procreate.

Taxis to various classes and activities/driving lessons and a car for me.

Eminybob · 19/09/2020 07:14

All the Harry Potter Lego.
Treehouse/playground for the garden
Florida holiday

ALLIS0N · 19/09/2020 07:16

An education and a house
