Hi all
Really struggling with ideas this year - my dd doesn’t really have any ideas and neither do I!

I’ve got her a Levi’s hoody that she wanted but hasn’t bought herself as she is saving for other things and some Morphe makeup brushes but really not sure after that!
I know she likes little things to open and as she has a younger sister I like to get some bits and pieces but really stuck.

Any ideas (big or small) would be great thank you!

Answering my own message here Smile
Have just seen on the bargain thread bubble tea giftsets - now I know she likes going for these with her friends so that’s an idea but which one; ideas anyone?

It's a difficult age to buy for, isn't it? Good shout on the bubble tea, I've just put that on the list for DD!

ChittyChittyBoomBoom · 17/09/2020 11:02

Have you got a link to the bubble tea bargain please? My dd would like that!

snowmanshoes · 17/09/2020 11:12

No bargains on the thread for bubble tea as yet (it was just mentioned) but I’ve been searching and found that The Bubble Panda do 15% off first purchase - either one off box or subscription. Looks like a good option and actually like the ones you get in the shops

How about a subscription to a beauty box? There are lots about that do 3,6,12 month subscriptions

SE13Mummy · 17/09/2020 11:39

Does she have an Alexa? My DD is a similar age and is very happy with bits and bobs that are essentials, or a slightly nicer version of the essentials e.g. favourite shower gel, shampoo, lip balm, index cards for revision, co-ordinated zippy wallets for school books, Pritt stick, fun post-it notes, overpriced highlighters, Oyster card holder, SHO water bottle (50% off at the moment for new customers), fake plants for her bedroom...

Trainers or a new backpack would go down well with my DD.

snowmanshoes · 17/09/2020 12:05

Great ideas thanks - actually you’ve reminded me that she said the other day she wished she’d bought pastel highlighters rather than neon so think I’ll get a set of those and yes I think I’ll be adding her favourite if overpriced shampoo and conditioner too because she would appreciate and use those!!

I’ve considered a beauty box subscription or a beauty advent calendar (ASOS) but it depends really how much I spend on her actual pressies - but I’m keeping that back as a plan b

No inspiration yet but joining the thread for ideas.

My dd absolutely loves her powerbeats pro earphones - they're especially good if you're into exercise as they never fall out. Really comfortable as well, but not cheap!

She was also given a baking club subscription last year, which she loved!

MrsPerfect12 · 17/09/2020 16:43

I am trying to remember what I loved at that age.

I was a bug reader so loved having novels picked out just for me and also book tokens.

Also got some lovely candle holders (even though I was not allowed to burn candles in my room).

Also art stuff

I'm very conscious of not getting my 14 yo DD things related to appearance. When DS was this age he'd have say a new hoody and a lynx set in his stocking and I want to be the same with DD. I am hoping for ideas for stuff to DO not stuff to wash/paint face with...

EvelynBeatrice · 19/09/2020 07:27

A friend of mine recommended a voucher/ booking for Krav Maga or other form of self defence classes. Our daughters loved Krav for teens and the young female ex military instructor was a very positive role model. The way things are going all our girls need to learn not to freeze and lose their voice and how to keep themselves safe.

Great ideas thanks! She’s just mentioned to me she’d like something to style her hair - more in the way of a heated brush for big bouncy waves so will look into something like that - ahh feel better now I have ideas! Thanks for all the suggestions
