Christmas

Anyone else already have a huge christmas present pile squirreled away??

Hi! Ive emptied all my hiding spots and downloaded the gift list app to put in all the little presents I've squirreled away for Christmas and I already have loads for my girls!

All mostly bought at half price or less (my dd1s main gift is the harry potter clock tower set I paid £30 for!)There's been some v good offers on and I've been lucky on second hand sites too!

Anyone else as crazy as me and already nearly done for their children's Christmas presents? (My daughters are 11 & 8 + fairly consistent in their interests - dd1 lego and collectible figures, dd2 dolls... dolls and more dolls 😂)

For the inevitable complainers about how early... ive posted in the christmas topic where I'm sure the like minded individuals are 😂

Yes me! I've done pretty well this year following the bargain thread. I feel much better knowing how organised I am with the unknown ahead on shopping and stock levels. Means I can concentrate on enjoying the season too

@RestorationInsanity how exciting, congratulations and hope the remainder of your pregnancy goes smoothly (stay cool tomorrow - sit in front of a fan and eat icecream). It's so exciting buying those first Christmas things. I've got a personalised stocking and personalised presents sack ordered and on their way to me now. I am going to contact a friend who does personalised baubles and get one made for DD (name, year and 1st Christmas printed on it) - she made the two for me for my 2 angel babies I lost in July and November 2018. I've also bought her main present and one stocking present. I can't control myself, I just want to go crazy buying for her first Christmas but know she'll have no idea what's going on and also being on maternity leave the bank balance needs watching 👀 😩 everything I've bought so far have had good discounts.

I havent started yet but I intend to soon as we have 4 children between me and my partner, plus another due a few days before Christmas. my 2 year old dd will be the easiest to buy for so il probably start with her and stocking fillers and then wait a while to see what the older kids ask for. Although dps eldest son is now 18 so he said he wont be buying him a main present any more just some extra bits. I want to ideally be done by the first week of December so I can concentrate on our new arrival

I have a few gifts sorted. The 'add on' ones from us, which is stuff we think they would like, rather than Santa stuff (other than DS' Fitbit which is an early Santa request!).

I now need to wait for the lists (which I always encourage early in autumn!) before carrying on.

I've nearly finished youngest DS (1) all I need for him is few sets of clothes, slippers and then Buzz, Woody and Donald Duck from Disney Store.

Oldest DS I have 300 in JD vouchers so that will do trainers, coat and tracksuit then if any left over (not likely) will put any voucher left in his stocking...
Also already have him a tracksuit, two books and some PlayStation Pjs

Yes!! I always start thinking about Christmas in the summer holidays!

I'm leaving main presents until closer to the time as I'm not really sure what the DC will want this year but have been buying other family & things like dressing gowns, stocking fillers etc.

I've got one large suitcase full so far & have a box in the attic with crackers (to pull), wrapping paper & some new baubles that I bought in the January sales.

We've been redecorating the living room & the Christmas tree is (hopefully) going to look so lovely in front of my new curtains, I can't wait!!

I keep looking at Christmas mantlepiece designs online to get ideas Grin

Yup, argos clearance and entertainer sale are to thank for my pile. Its always a pain in the arse if i leave it too late, both myself, dp, ds AND dd all have birthdays in November so i always think ive got enough, and then realise i don't after the bday stuff has come out of it. Plus DD is in our spare room now so ive lost my hiding spot. I used the loft last year and a few of the electrical toys didnt work for long so think it was from being stored up there.

I have some but I'm not as far ahead as I usually am. Mainly I'm just collecting things as offers come up but I'm determined this year to hide things in the loft, all together! I gave DD1 a retrieved 2019 Christmas present last week!

All finished here Grin Just need to buy a few bits and pieces for DS's Christmas Eve box nearer the time. I know some people think they're rubbish/gimicky but we're a small family and DS is an only so we thought it'd be nice to start a few little traditions for him. After the year we've had so far I can't wait!

@Gin4thewin I know what you mean, my sons birthday is in October and with baby due end of sept I wanted to get that all covered so no rush if baby late or in hospital. The spare room is now going to be the babys room so I'll need to try and get a new space for next year - so far everything's managed to fit in boxes under my bed or on top of the wardrobe which is crammed with other stuff. Dreading when it comes to buying bigger toys for multiple kids haha x

None. I usually pick up the odd item in shops from now, but not had any days browsing shops. Often in my lunch break from work.

I suspect this year will be left more last minute.

I’ve not started (I’m a Christmas Eve shopper normally!) although I’m trying to break my ways. I have been thinking about it though!

DH and I have been wracking our brains trying to think what to get our b/g DTs who are 2.5. We’ve sort of gone overboard on presents the last two years (mainly secondhand) and are overrun with toys. Experience days are out courtesy of Covid, we’re really struggling!

I've got a reasonable pile and planning on adding to it at a designer outlet later in the week. Not huge yet. I need to get it organised so may do that today.
I love the Christmas bargain thread - supplies loads of ideas I wouldn't have thought of

Ive already started. I can't really remember what I have (there's a Barbie in there, I know that much) but the top of the kitchen cupboards are filling up and that's all that matters. 🎄🎄🎄

Yesterday, I purchased two beautiful crystal necklaces for both dd's!!
They were admiring them but just outside their budgets. They are so sparkly too, will be lovely in Christmas lights.

So, it begins. 😍😍🤶🤶🎄
