Morning. Welcome to our new thread.

We maybe have rain today. I really hope we do! I have no ides when we last had it.

I'm baking with the kids today plus potting some plants on. Exciting. No idea where they'll go, mind you!

Only 2 days left of furlough. Yaaay for the financial side and booooo otherwise! 😂

Morning!

Yes, weirdly, only a handful of mine were actually bang on from that region. Which makes it all very clever indeed!

I think I forgot to select entry as we'd use that too. I doubt it'd make much difference!

Good luck today, Firefly. Remember we're all with you in spirit!

Chocolate, welcome back. Thank you for the update; I'm glad everything is improving.

Back to working today. I've had a terrible night's sleep because of it. I'm dreading my backlog, quite frankly.

fluffy take your time working through it all.
Firefly We're with you all the way. Good Luck.
Nero It's a weight of your shoulders to get him into your choice of school. You can relax a bit now Smile unless you have to find a uniform for him in lockdown...now that could be a challenge.

Morning everyone! Wet miserable day here. Trying to psych myself to get up out of bed and tackle laundry mountain today x

Morning all,
Thanks Boots, I tried that "where are you from" test - it had me from Dublin mostly, strongly Galway, and when I kept going, added strength to Cork/Waterford. I grew up in 1 of those, my parents are both from another (and we now live there), and I know lots of people from and have holidayed in the 3rd.

For the growers (Fluffy, Crazy et al), it's miserable here too - but not terribly heavy, just that soft rain that is good for the plants (much needed!). Our butt was almost empty.

MrsMad, Bob and DM do look comfy and happy relaxed on the couch!! Sometimes you DO just need a bit of pud. It's Thursday, so our weekly "treat" of fresh bread from the local artisan bakery arrived (after breakfast, so morning coffee will be nice!!). You need to order 2 days ahead (really 3 because you can order after 4pm when order for the previous day stop, and it's often run out before the morning of the 2 days before), but we had been enjoying it even before lockdown as an occasional treat, and it's good to have something to enjoy and support local.

70s keep away from QVC - give DH a list of things to go looking at his leisure to surprise you for your birthday/Christmas instead!! Grin

Hopefully the planning for school can now go gently on for the DCs Neros and Wonderful.

Fair play to your DH for doing haircuts Wreck - DH needed it done here and effort 1 was roundly criticised, but round 2 went at a more relaxed time and he was less uptight about it, so the results were somewhat better (but I still don't have a 2nd career beckoning as a barber! Grin ).

Good luck to DSis Chocolate on keeping on "living despite".

We had a discussion over breakfast in our house about the "Laundry fairy" and the lack of appreciation for their workload Cherry - DH was getting insulted as DD was assuming it was me (in fairness, while I do some, DH gets to the basket ahead of me about 75% of the time to get it sorted and in the machine, and he likes to fold it while watching a movie once a week - I get plenty of other chances to do chores!).

I'd better go and get stuck into my real work, a bit like Wreck it's quite boring at the moment, but I'm trying for "1 bite at a time" approach to get some progress.

I'll post my progress from last night below (I have to do that from the phone). I just need the red handle on the screwdriver now - I may do a few more toolkit marks as there are a load of men who do DIY in the family!!

Fluffy it doesn't feel as though you've been off work that long!

Welcome back chocolate

Congratulations Neros 🥳

Biddy the tool kit bookmarks are cute.

Firefly I was thinking of you this morning, I hope everything is ok.

I did the dialect test, it got me spot on!

Awful nights sleep here (a whole 5 hours, broken) so I'll be forcing myself to stay awake in the hope it'll be better tonight.

Pic attached of my Christmas tree - it was a feat of physics and engineering that I finally got it standing! Just needs some beads for baubles now.

Thanks everyone, everything went well at the scan, and BabyFirefly is due 2nd November. Still doesn't feel real, I keep looking at the scan photo on my phone.

The dialect test got me spot on, but it's so specific I daren't publish it!

Chocolate glad to hear your sister is home, and even better that the drugs have shrunk the tumour Flowers

Firefly such wonderful happy news Smile

Crazy you need some of the pompom edging you can get for cushions. And a set of battery powered fairy lights. Grin

...in other news, we've had hailstones!

FireflyGirl · 30/04/2020 15:45

DS was born at 38 weeks, Fluffy, so I am not expecting to go over.

We'll probably be finding out - we found out with DS, mostly because we couldn't agree on any names so finding out the sex meant fewer names to argue over Grin

Thought I'd already posted to say how much I love your tree, Crazy, sorry.

The tree is ace, Crazy! Well done!

Have you had any ideas about names, Firefly, or will you just not think about it yet?

Wreck, we've had similar weather. We've needed the heating on as it was 16° in the front room which is way too 🥶

Biddy, our rain has been OK, but we need WAY more to sort the ground out. Our butts remain at critical levels.

First day back was hideous. I reckon I'll catch up Tues or so next week. I had almost-300 emails and I've not even looked at my task list other than to see it was at 139 tasks (I left it on 1!).

Not until at least the 20 week scan, I don't think Fluffy. Has nobody been covering your work? My supervisor is covering mine, I'm hoping she's deleted the emails out of my inbox that she's dealt with...

After all of DS's questions the other week, I had one of my own today: 'Why is there spaghetti on the cat?!?' R-Cat walked under the table at the wrong time...

Poor cat! 😂😂

Somebody did the absolute bare minimum, yes, Firefly. And when I say minimum, it really was! I had a few complex matters which took some time, but it wasn't my choice to go off, so 🤷‍♀️

People were asked to forward to another address, so I have no idea what's done or not until I'm in the file (and then it's often only 1/4 of the resulting work needed).

Congratulations Firefly, that's amazing news 🥳

puss pompom edging sounds genius, I'll see what I can do...

Fluffy that workload sounds bonkers. I'm trying desperately not to think about what will be waiting for me when we finally get back.

I'm glad you all like the tree. It was more work than I expected - it has a fair few mistakes and is smaller than I wanted due to limited green yarn - so I'm calling this one my practice.

It's absolutely freezing here so the heating is on. It's been raining on and off all day too and I made leek and potato soup for lunch to warm us up.
