What did you order and was it good?

We had shin of beef. Absolutely brilliant. Plenty leftover and warming through in the oven as I type.

Wish I’d ordered a Christmas Colin. Missed him.

Turkey - lovely
Sausage garland - lovely
Cornish cruncher and cider cheesebake - yuuum
Mini quiches - OK but no better than tesco
Millionaires dessert - nice but really sickly after a couple of spoonfuls
Brandy cream and butter - nice but very strong

mummyof2boys30 · 26/12/2019 21:34

We had turkey crown and was lovely as usual

Floralnomad · 26/12/2019 21:38

The Rodney reindeer cheesecake was superb , also got our turkey crowns from Marks and they were lovely . My dsis had a lot of party food from them and that was very good apparently .

popcorndiva · 26/12/2019 21:40

Turkey crown - cooked perfectly
Christmas Colin - not started yet but BBD is 2nd, so plenty of time
Cranberry sauce and bread sauce - yummy

SmallPinkBear · 26/12/2019 21:42

We missed out on the Christmas Colin but managed to get one in store. It was lovely. Had it yesterday as birthday cake Xmas Smile

SmallPinkBear · 26/12/2019 21:43

Oh and i am cooking my crown on Saturday (just got it out of the freezer) am hoping it will live up the the usual standards

Oly4 · 26/12/2019 21:45

Turkey crown - delicious.
All their stuffings - amazing.
Mini quiches, pies and salads, Cornish cruncher cheese... loved it all

enjoyingscience · 26/12/2019 21:46

Turkey, gammon, stuffing all went down really well and easy to cook. (Am veggie so didn’t taste them!)

Vegan roast and gravy really nice.

Footlong pigs in blankets have already acquired legend status with my DSs.

Crunched · 26/12/2019 21:47

Just finished the sausage roll garland - yum. The 3 bird roast was succulent and delicious, as were the honey roast parsnips. Haven’t started my Colin or the Camembert bake yet.
Only issue is the profiterole stack, designed for 10, sell-by date tomorrow and we are all too stuffed to open and eat it and it can’t be frozen.

Arnoldthecat · 26/12/2019 21:51

Turkey, pigs in blankets, turkey gravy and the sticky toffee trifle ...all to the usual high standard .

PrincessSarene · 26/12/2019 21:54

We got a turkey and all the veg, which was all really nice. But the star so far has been the beef and bone marrow pie - it was totally delicious!

kittykatkitty · 26/12/2019 21:54

We had
Brie
Cranberry topped pork pie
Turkey
Turkey gravy
All veg
Stuffing balls
Pigs in blankets
Millionaire dessert
Chocolate pine cones
Salmon and prawn stacks

It was all absolutely lovely

AllNewThings · 26/12/2019 21:58

Turkey
Stuffing balls and pigs in blankets
Red cabbage
Mash
Honey and mustard parsnips
Christmas Colin
Toffee trifle

Was phoning it in a bit as we've just moved house. Toffee trifle came with a big pube in it though, so no one would eat it. 🤮

Stuffed turkey crown, was excellent and super easy to cook

notanurse2017 · 26/12/2019 22:01

Christmas Colin is fabulous although his facial expression makes him look like he's attending a rave 😂

NightsOfCabiria · 26/12/2019 22:04

The white chocolate bomb was sickly and made me ill.

ALemonyPea · 26/12/2019 22:09

Three bird roast was a hit
My roasties didn't crisp up though, they were even in half an hour longer than needed.

Dustarr73 · 26/12/2019 22:09

Turkey Crown was gorgeous
The sausage wreath was ok but i reheated it today and it was lovely,
Roast beef joint was fab
Roasters a bit dry
Rainbow cake was lovely as well

whatthedeckthehalls · 26/12/2019 22:12

Turkey crown, swede mash, roast potatoes were all lovely.

Sprouts with bacon and chestnuts were awful and rock hard

TheClausSeason · 26/12/2019 22:14

Turkey crown- lovely
Bread sauce- awesome
Cranberry sauce- pretty standard but came with the bread sauce so not fussed
Gravy- no better than bisto IMHO
Cauliflower cheese- really nice
Salmon and king prawn stacks- gorgeous
Chocolate bombe- OK, not a huge fan though. Wouldn't have again
Rosti things for veggie guest- they seemed to like it

Turkey crown - lovely, leftovers in sandwiches today still nice
Luxury veg selection - nice, but roast potatoes disappointing and thought the red cabbage was awful as way too sweet
Christmas Colin - inside nice, chocolate shell too thick and virtually inedible
Will just order the turkey next year

rottiemum88 · 26/12/2019 22:18

Oh yes the sprouts - cooked for the suggested time (and more!) but were absolutely rock hard

Elle7rose · 27/12/2019 00:50

Turkey crown, sausages and stuffing were all yummy.
Potatoes- homemade ones were better.
Millionaires dessert- nothing to write home about.

kingkuta · 27/12/2019 11:42

Turkey breast joint - beautiful, the best turkey I've ever tasted

Gammon - again, was beautiful. Really tasty, not salty at all

Cauliflower cheese - lovely

Rodney cheesecake - to die for. Usually find M&S desserts too sweet but it was gorgeous

Prawn and smoked salmon starters - OK, a little rich. Will probably go back to making my own starter next year

Overall really impressed and will go back next year. Pick up slots so easy & effortless as well
