What's everyone's tipple this year? And how early do you start..I get caught up in the excitement of xmas and drink a few glasses of chardonnay a bit early! I'd like something different this year!
When do you have a drink on xmas day?
And what is the choice this year
Wine

chillychicken · 17/12/2019 21:50

Champagne in the morning, prosecco with lunch (eating out) and probably decaf tea when I get home Grin

SoMuchToBits · 18/12/2019 00:23

ilovepixie · 18/12/2019 00:27

Tea and Diet Coke. Don't drink at Christmas.

Pieceofpurplesky · 18/12/2019 12:58

Cranberry and Clementine fizz for breakfast. A g and t in the pub whilst walking the dog to the pub
Red wine with food. Maybe a snowball!
Then sleep for a day!

Tonii1985 · 18/12/2019 13:01

Cava with lunch, port with cheese in the evening x

Charlottejade89 · 18/12/2019 13:12

bucks fizz first thing and then usually prosecco and/or rose. used to love gin but have become abit of a lightweight since having a baby lol. Dp will have prosecco with me and then a whiskey and a few beers in the evening

Pegase · 18/12/2019 13:17

Shloer as pregnant over Christmas. First Christmas without champagne for my whole adult life. Sob.

totorosfluffytummy · 18/12/2019 13:43

Bucks Fizz with breakfast/presents.
1 or 2 Prosecco at DM's before dinner.
Red wine with dinner.
Snowballs after dinner.
Then Gin cocktails and maybe a Baileys or 2Smile

(I don't even like Prosecco but it is easier to drink it than refuse it on Xmas day!)

BaubleTheLumpOfCoal · 18/12/2019 13:47

At MILs on Christmas Day and she loves plying us with booze (hey, I'm not complaining...) so;

  • A weak Buck's Fizz in the morning (pacing myself!)
  • Jelly Shots
  • Champagne
  • Red Wine
  • Variety of spirits and mixers
Anything you want to drink will be there, there's no obscure drink you ask for that you won't be served with.

It's like a party at her house, absolutely love it.

Frenchw1fe · 18/12/2019 13:49

Whisky in every cup of tea, prosecco in the pub, red wine with lunch, anything in the evening.

PastaSauceHoarder · 18/12/2019 13:54

Shloer - I'm nearly 38 weeks pregnant on Christmas Day. Xmas Grin

CoolcoolcoolcoolcoolNoDoubt · 18/12/2019 15:12

Sparkling red wine..? Think I've been living under a rock.. never heard of that! Will have to try it.

Bellini is my drink of choice.

timeforawine · 18/12/2019 15:14

No, champagne during the day, maybe red wine in the evening, maybe a port or sherry, no irish cream as at IL's and they don't buy it, when i get home boxing day though it'll be aldi irish cream in the evening

Ohyesiam · 18/12/2019 15:15

Moët.
I’m a real lightweight, which works well as I can only afford a couple of bottlesXmas Smile

DecemberSnow · 18/12/2019 15:18

I dont like people drinking at Christmas

I will be having Tea / Coffee / 7up Free

Shahlalala · 18/12/2019 15:25

Blimey! If I drank in the morning I would be out for the count by the afternoon.
I have small children so tea, fizzy grape stuff and maybe hot chocolate in the evening. DH will probably have a whisky once the kids are in bed. I’m breastfeeding a small one so won’t indulge this year!

Shahlalala · 18/12/2019 15:27

Bees knees in Morrisons is nice for anyone going alcohol free.
Dawned on me you probably want alcoholic suggestions. I would go with champagne then an Italian red with dinner (we do red meat rather than turkey).

AuntieMarys · 18/12/2019 15:27

Champagne all day.

RhymingRabbit3 · 18/12/2019 15:28

Pregnant this year so its "nosecco" and non alcoholic mulled wine for me. I will definitely miss my christmas Baileys

IceniSky · 18/12/2019 17:04

I've gone off drinking early on Christmas, it just goes to my head, so Hotel Chocolate hot chocolate, or I've bought some Three Spirits to try, or rose syrup with lemonade.

I'll have a glass of prosecco with dinner and maybe a gin and rose syrup. Then baileys at night.

Chista · 18/12/2019 17:14

Same as every other day of the year, water or cordial, do not drink but am always amused at watching others get merry

Cherrypi · 18/12/2019 17:16

Bucks fizz, snowballs, homemade nigel slater apricot brandy and baileys.
