Dd10 has (not diagnosed with anything) some sensory issues, mainly touch. She loves things that are soft and comfy. All she has asked for for Christmas is books and 'comfy stuff'!
I've got her some other things I think she will like too, but regarding comfort, I have bought a soft blanket, a velour tracksuit, some soft pj's (she already has a lovely dressing gown, some slippers, a cushion for her bed. (she already has 2 normal pillows and 5 square cushions ha ha)

Any other ideas?? I feel like there must be some things I'm missing that area really obvious.

Snuggly beanbag/ chair?
V shaped reading pillow?
Heated throw?

Isitme13 · 10/12/2019 21:30

Ah, I see re: leggings. My middle dc with sensory issues lives in them because she cannot bear the looseness of normal trousers, but then her younger brother lives in joggers due to sensory issues...

Next have a gorgeous range of super soft fleecy bedding

Dd has Aspergers and sensory issues, she loves soft things. Her favourite thing is a giant fluffy cushion from ikea which she sleeps on 🤣. She’s getting a onesie and a new dressing gown this year, and a cuddly German Shepard. Just saw some giant fur bean bags on Aldi website, wish we had room for one.

Maybe a heated blanket or weighted blanket?

Lovemusic33 · 10/12/2019 21:32

Dd hates leggings too and jeans.

nocutsnobuttsnococonuts · 10/12/2019 21:36

my dd loves fluffy and cosy things. she has been sleeping in her mummy style sleeping bag since going camping in the summer! so maybe a sleeping bag??

Isitme13 · 10/12/2019 21:39

All of my dc currently really love SquishMallows - a super huggy, squishy soft toy, available in various different animals/shapes - dd2 got give a. Santa one today by a school friend, and has come home over the moon about it

DD same age, same problem. In fact I was explaining to camhs about it just this evening Sad along with the other 'stuff'.

She loves her fleece blankets. I've also bought her a snuggle hoodie (basically a fleece oversize hoodie), fluffy bed socks and another blanket. She wraps herself all nights in them and places them over her pillows etc.

Anoisagusaris · 10/12/2019 21:42

A fluffy backpack

ClientListQueen · 10/12/2019 21:44

Squishmallow def as above!

Bear with me on this one but a sheepskin company sells "pet mats" but they're gorgeous, I have one to sit/lie on, it's real sheepskin and not expensive

Earslaps · 10/12/2019 21:44

Superdry do amazing wrap around scarves- knitted outside and soft, snuggly fleece inside. I love mine, it is sooooooo cosy.

namechangenumber2 · 10/12/2019 21:44

Squishmallows!

Comfy school uniform? It’s what they wear most of the time, after all.

Earslaps · 10/12/2019 21:46

And definitely get a real sheepskin rug. It can go on the floor or on a chair.

Butterfly02 · 10/12/2019 21:46

My eldest has asd and loves a travel neck cushion he wears it round the house. It has to be a very soft one that he can stroke as well.

Buggeritimgettingup · 10/12/2019 21:48

A Warmies cuddly toy you Zap them in microwave loads of different animals etc

ClientListQueen · 10/12/2019 21:51

Link to the pet ones but there's others which are a bit more expensive

Brushed cotton bed sheets.

NameOfYourSexTape · 10/12/2019 21:55

Thanks so much everyone, I've got lots more ideas now :)

Re the school uniform, ours is a very very specific uniform, as in, you can only get it from one shop. Fortunately it's not caused any problems and she's happy enough with it, it's a skirt, polo and super soft cardi so she likes it

CoffeeBeansGalore · 10/12/2019 21:57

Huggle hoodie, nice colours available, not just grey. 😁

I love the Primark furry leggings. They are really warm. But I sometimes find they feel a bit tight round my middle once I've been wearing them for a while. So maybe not great for her.

Every evening just now when I get home I put on my reindeer fluffy hoodie from Joe Browns. It is the softest, cosiest thing I own. I don't want to put it in the washing machine in case it loses its softness.

Fleece lined hat, gloves and neck warmer?q

thewreckofthehesperus · 10/12/2019 22:01

How about books/DVDs and a nice hot chocolate set with a mug/ marshmallows etc that she can enjoy while being cosy at home.

gavisconismyfriend · 10/12/2019 22:04

How about a plushie - the sloths have their eyes closed already, so couldn’t look at her little-dreams.co.uk/products/sloth-stuffed-animal
