@NaturalBlondeYeahRight thank you so much for that code! Saved me money on a game for my DS that he put on his letter to Santa after I thought I had finished shopping.

LikeSilver · 12/12/2019 15:07

In that case I’ve always found the boots from Sainsbury’s Tu are comfy and don’t seem to need much wearing in. I have some of their ‘sole comfort’ ones. They’ve lasted me a year for work and I walk 20k steps a day so that’s not bad!

Isadora2007 · 12/12/2019 15:21

Refund received for my hampers. Glad it wasn’t a scam after all.

Mistressiggi · 12/12/2019 15:25

It wasn't out and out theft no, but it certainly was a scam!!

Spartonian · 12/12/2019 15:41

@LikeSilver I will have a look at Sainsburys now, thank you.

wineoclockthanks · 12/12/2019 15:47

25% off Christmas jumpers at Tesco (until 17th Dec)

Ibelieveinyou · 12/12/2019 16:08

I went real life shopping today and noticed Laura Ashley have started their sale. Lots of lovely Christmas bits up to half price and they sell some jelly cat toys and have 30% off of those too.

BlueSkyAtChristmas · 12/12/2019 16:18

Went shopping in town today

John Lewis have 30% off decorations in store

Marks and Spencer’s have up to 50% off Christmas gifts. I received 20% off the items I went in for

Laura Ashley still has 30% off Christmas decorations and homeware

BlueSkyAtChristmas · 12/12/2019 16:20

@Isadora2007 it certainly was a scam, seemingly money laundering rather than theft

Can anyone advise on board games please? I'd like to get one for my 6 year old (but really for the whole family to play). He loves games like Exploding kittens, cluedo and monopoly so I was wondering about something like 'Ticket to ride'. I'm sure it was on on of these threads a couple of years ago! I've never played it, but is it really as good as people say? And which edition do I need to start with? There are so many different ones and expansion ones that I'm a bit bewildered!

Alternatively I spotted a Guinness book of records game today that looked good, but again, I'd never heard of it before. Any thoughts, or suggestions for a different game entirely would be very welcome!

wineoclockthanks · 12/12/2019 16:46

Both my boys loved the Guinness BR at that age but do be prepared to hear about the grossest, yuckiest records all over Christmas Xmas Smile

JBFletcherstypewriter · 12/12/2019 17:03

@GymSloth I was watching This Morning earlier and they were talking about the game Dobble? I’d never heard of it before but they were saying that it’s great for all ages.. Might be worth a look if you haven’t got it already?

OakleyStreetisnotinChelsea · 12/12/2019 17:09

Gymsloth I would not recommend ticket to ride for a 6 year old. I love it but not for that age.

Dobble is good, cobra paw, zombie dice, rhino hero. My 7 year old has played normal Carcassonne since around 5 and plays catan well too. He is ok at pandemic too because it is co-operative so we can help him. Look at nyet too which is fun. The rest of us like things like takenoko and azul which he also likes but does struggle a little with.

sorryiasked · 12/12/2019 17:16

@GymSloth I would go with Ticket to ride junior Europe edition - the standard version can drag on a bit.
Also Scotland yard is brilliant and comes in a junior version which should suit your ds

Please could I be a total leech and ask ifor anyone has a spare Naked Wines vouchers please? I think it's a £75 off a case of 6 wines or similar. They are sent out in the hundreds and I've always binned mine, but sods law says now I need one Grin

Please.

PaddingtonBearHardStare · 12/12/2019 17:38

We have original Dobble plus Star Wars Dobble and DS is getting Harry Potter version for Christmas. The funniest part of playing is watching my adult Star Wars obsessed brother getting cross when we use our own descriptions of things as we have no clue of their real names!!

Purpletigers · 12/12/2019 17:38

I got a naked wine voucher in with a dvd I bought off eBay ( random ) . I left it on my desk at work but will happily send it to you tomorrow if you don’t get one before then .

Purpletigers · 12/12/2019 17:40

Dobble suits all ages . Pass the bomb is good if you have a largest group of varying ages . We played it one Christmas with ages ranging from 4-75!

myfavouriterain · 12/12/2019 17:45

Am looking for a power bank I know there was one listed about 19 threads ago but it says no longer available...

Dolphintrainer · 12/12/2019 17:49

@GymSloth we have had Ticket To Ride Junior (Europe) for two years and my kids love it - and so do we! So they were 4 and 7 when we first got it. It’s always their and our game of choice for a play. We can play evenly too! Definitely a winner! Dobble is great too but that’s just a game for a few minutes. TIcket to Ride is longer - maybe 30-40 mins or so depending on number playing.

Riddikulusness · 12/12/2019 17:52

Just bought a Lord of the rings book set for £13.99 on Amazon lightning deals (four books). Ds will be delighted

MyEnormousTurnip · 12/12/2019 17:57

@myfavouriterain We’ve got this one and it’s great. 4 or 5 full charges from one charge up and a digital display to show how much charge is left.

NotYourHolidayDick · 12/12/2019 18:01

Thank you purple but I've just been given one. They areally found in such random places aren't they Grin

GymSloth · 12/12/2019 18:02

Thanks all. We've already got Dobble and the dc do like it, but I'm really looking for a board game that takes a bit longer as dolphin says. Sounds like the junior edition of ticket to ride would be good - I hadn't realised there was one! Scotland Yard looks really good as well though. Am off to check them both out!
