Just opened my Christmas present from my husband and gutted...

Just that really, we are a bit skint and it’s something that would never have been on my radar and would have been so happy and shocked to wake up to on Christmas morning and not only have I ruined the surprise for myself but am going to have to tell him that I have seen it as have opened the packaging...

Genuinely wondering if I can blame it on the dog!! Blush

@housinghelp101 I think you missed my point, the reason I was so gutted and one of the reasons I didn’t hesitate opening the package was because I wasn’t expecting anything and it would have been such a lovely surprise on Christmas morning!!

It doesn’t really matter what it is, I blatantly left it out in case I got accused of boasting, it’s something lovely that I am (and will be in Christmas morning) over the moon with.

I cheerfully typed my post and then realised loads of others had said it before me...Ah well! My MIL ruined my surprise present from my DH last year by accidentally telling me what it was before I even got near it, I had to pretend I hadn't heard as DH was so disappointed. I had to act really surprised, seemed to work ok!

My partner does this on purpose. He can't have a surprise because he spoils it.
Last year I knew he had mooched through things because of how it was put back.
I sent back everything that was there and ordered new stuff.
Let's hope he learns his lesson this year.

I told DH that I had stuck it on top of the cupboard and flippantly mentioned to him that not sure if one of the kids/or dog had got it as the packaging was ripped!!! Hmm and he seems massively unconcerned so maybe I have managed to wing it...Hmm

He also said he’s waiting on something else as well and not too open it, so maybe that the JM CD!!!! Grin

@friendlycat almost the exact same thing happened last year to me with a kitchen appliance present....

Not helped by the fact I’d already opened two other presents from DH because the fool had been logged in to my Amazon acct when he ordered them so my name was on the boxes (Prime membership is on my account).

I totally understand how you did this. We share amazon account too...what's the point of having two.

A friend and I order for each other through our Amazon accounts now so this kind of thing doesn't happen.

It was way off what we would normally spend on each other at Christmas and was definitely not on my radar to receive.
