Hates smellies
Only plays one PC game and already owns it
And a PC
Has all the sports kit and clothes he needs

Would really not be joyous about socks or stationary or food gifts

Arghhhhhhhh

He’s lovely- not at all grabby and wouldnt bat an eyelid if he just got a T shirt and a big bag of Maltesers but his sisters and older brother se so easy to buy for and I’d like to be fair in what I get.

Voucher for a special day/trip, something he would be in to like rock climbing, indoor skiing, trampolining, theme park etc?

Driving lessons?

Gottalovesummer · 07/12/2019 22:47

Does he like going to the theatre/gigs? What about tickets to a band he likes.?

TreeMenDos · 07/12/2019 22:48

Agree.

Completely stumped with DSs gifts. When I ask him he just shrugs and makes some Kevin and Perry noises Confused

Cherryrainbow · 07/12/2019 22:58

Is there any merchandise for the pc game he likes to play? Would a decent headset or keyboard be any use to him or does he have those already? Any DVD box sets he might like?

fairynick · 07/12/2019 23:00

Vouchers, clothes, beer, subscriptions, driving lessons, alexa

HeatedDryer · 07/12/2019 23:12

I'm lucky, mine has asked for some mountain biking bits, but mostly he just wants money (saving up for a new bike!)
He always appreciates a gift card for his PlayStation
Touch screen gloves
Pop figure of favourite movie characters
Headset for gaming

I agree it is tricky

My lad has a blow up Spongebob ( we used to watch it together all the time when he was little), a detailed map poster thing of rap/hip-hop artists and some tools for his apprenticeship. He will also get a new dressing gown, socks and some chocolates that he likes.
Does your lad like music? Spotify subscription and a portable speaker like a Mini-Rig?
Some blue tooth headphones? Lego? Airfix?

JourneyToThePlacentaOfTheEarth · 08/12/2019 08:41

hotsauce could youI post a link to the hip hop map please?

TreeSwayer · 08/12/2019 08:53

We did homemade vouchers last year for our sons who were 15 and 12. Starbucks, cinema and restaurant meals.

This year as Ds is 16 we have got him the driving theory stuff as he will learn to drive next year and get lessons for his 17th so he needs to know the highway code before then.

As PP said merch for the game he loves? Sadly for us they are thin on the ground (Rocket League)

CottonSock · 08/12/2019 08:54

I disagree, my dad age 70 is way harder Wink. And he wants a surprise

Sparklybaublefest · 08/12/2019 09:22

My 25 year old DS is an absolute pain to buy for,, apart from clothes

Sparklybaublefest · 08/12/2019 09:23

Two of his presents from last christmas are still unopened!

OddBoots · 08/12/2019 09:27

Does he have all the extra PC bits he likes? My PC gaming DS has had a gaming keyboard, mouse and XBox type controller as well loved gifts over the years.

Shockers · 08/12/2019 09:31

If two of last year’s presents are unused, he probably gets a sinking feeling as he opens his presents and realised he doesn’t want or need them.

If you want to keep it fair, I’d give him the cash!

But agree with a pp- cosy dressing gowns have always gone down well with our teens- it’s like getting a hug but one where you don’t actually have to touch anyone Grin.

Sparklybaublefest · 08/12/2019 09:37

Even a voucher has not been used

BearSoFair · 08/12/2019 09:38

Is he into any tv shows or movies, Funko Pop figures are popular with DS1 and his friends.

What about music? There's a range of tiny synthesizers (Pocket Operator) that are around £50, we've got DS1 the Arcade one.

savethecat · 08/12/2019 09:43

I have for my 15 y/old (so far):

Download tickets (will have to be an IOU)
A record player
A few games
A nintendo switch case
Stocking stuff - lynx, sweets, cookies, various novelties
Will likely get: some guitar books, alexa echo

Mine is not actually that big into gaming, hates football and we never, ever buy clothes as gifts unless they are some novelty Xmas PJs or something.

He asked for a PC , a dog :(

savethecat · 08/12/2019 09:44

@BearSoFair where do you find the pocket synthesizers??

savethecat · 08/12/2019 09:47

And do you need to attach it to something? What is this strange magic??

BearSoFair · 08/12/2019 09:49

@savethecat We used Gear4Music online, they were the cheapest and we know they're reliable.

Karwomannghia · 08/12/2019 09:50

I’d just wrap up some snacks he likes, get the T-shirt and give him money.

onyourway · 08/12/2019 09:50

Parachute jump?

savethecat · 08/12/2019 09:50

Thanks @BearSoFair

BearSoFair · 08/12/2019 09:52

@savethecat There are some good videos on Youtube explaining them, I find PMT's channel always explain things clearly

Bluerussian · 08/12/2019 09:52

Tickets for band and/or cash.
