Doll’s pram. Never got one as my parents thought it was too stereotyping for a girl, I was born at the end of the 60’s and my parents were painfully politically correct sometimes. My younger sister (7 years younger than me) got a doll’s buggy one year (the red and white striped one) as that wasn’t as stereotyping as a doll’s pram and more unisex apparently Hmm I don’t think I’ve ever really got over it!
I did finally get a girls world (brunette though, not the blond that I wanted!!) I bloody loved that thing and used to use the rollers in my own hair!

Whiskeylover45 · 04/12/2019 11:45

Mr Frosty, but I never got it. Clearly, I'm not alone. 😂

Sindys disco house, asked for it for months and opening it was magical. I've never forgotten that feeling.

Tamagotchi

Cabbage Patch Dolls

Those cupcake dolls that the bottom of her dress went up and her hat was the top of the cupcake. Scented as well.

90s kid right here 😂

Mr frosty and a post office. My cousin had a post office and I was terribly jealous!

MrOnionsBumperRoller · 04/12/2019 11:58

I got Mr Frosty and he broke the first time i attempted to crush ice with it. Biggest ever Christmas dissapointment. Matchbox carousel and horses. Never got it.

ElsasSalamander · 04/12/2019 12:03

Mr Frosty - I got one but can’t remember it being all that good!
My Little Pony Majesty’s Castle - which disappeared one day while I was at school never to be seen again & I’ve still never forgiven my mum for taking it to the charity shop! Sad
I’ve bought a retro 1980’s style my little pony for [me] DD this Christmas just like the one I had when I was little Xmas Grin

A piano. Bless her, my mum did get me one but it was a toy one (I had hoped for a real baby grand).

I couldn't then, nor can now, play the piano...

apostropheuse · 04/12/2019 12:06

I wanted a Chatty Cathy doll, but got a Choosy Susy doll instead (which I loved) - around 1966. She turned her head towards the feeding bottle, but turned away from the spoon whuch had medicine on it. The wonders of magnets! I also never got the Sindy horse I wanted for years - I got a drawing set which contained a horse stencil instead. I was devastaed. Needless to say, I've bought toy horses for all my daughters and granddaughters over the years!Grin

Speak and Spell, Major Minor and Mr Frosty.

My mother has no recollection of this but is now on my case about not getting my 7 year old a Nintendo Switch for Christmas because she can't bear to think of him being disappointed!

wendz86 · 04/12/2019 17:06

PrincessHoneysuckle · 04/12/2019 17:09

I did get the Mr Frosty but at nine years old I didn't have the upper arm strength of Dwayne Johnson so had to get my parents to do it.
A pony topped my list every year, alas...

TheWayOfTheWorld · 04/12/2019 18:23

@FrancisCrawford I was planning on giving my DC bikes for Christmas - I've got a second hand one for DC1 and was going to give DC2 DC1ms bike. But I had a crisis of conscience over the issue you remember from 50 years ago, I was so worried that they would notice and feel bad about getting hand me downs for Christmas.

So the bikes will be saved until the weather improves - DC2 will still get the same bike, but not as a present.

Whusky · 04/12/2019 20:18

Fetch Armstrong.

Leaking gloopy stuff within a week.

SingingSands · 04/12/2019 20:25

I had an A La Carte kitchen! Can't remember if it was Christmas or birthday though. I LOVED it and played with it until I was far too old for it Grin

I remember really really wanting a Mr Frosty, but never got one.

My top presents were:
Roller Boots
Poochie
Sindy House

Justsocross · 05/12/2019 01:45

A space hopper !!! ( showing my age ) and a little oven thing that cooked real cakes .

Pannalash · 05/12/2019 01:56

Adorable Daxie
Sindy House
Potters Wheel
Typewriter

Gingerkittykat · 05/12/2019 03:44

Mr Frosty, my friend got one and it was rubbish. I had imagined being able to make slush puppies at home but all you got was a teeny bit of grated ice.

Cabbage patch doll, too expensive and a waste of money.

Barbie, I got Sindy instead.

Nat6999 · 05/12/2019 03:53

Sindy horse, caravan & Range Rover, the Eastham line yellow fitted kitchen. I loved my Sindy dolls, I had some of the furniture but not those bits. I keep on seeing the dolls, clothes & furniture on Ebay now & keep on thinking of starting collecting them again, makes me mad that I had loads of the stuff that got thrown out as I grew up.

Lulu1919 · 05/12/2019 04:39

Buckaroo
Kerr plunk
Sony Walkman

Lulu1919 · 05/12/2019 04:42

Ooh and a Sindy Ballerina

HideYourBabiesAndYourBeadwork · 05/12/2019 05:57

Always wanted the post office! My cousins had one and the A La Carte kitchen AND a huge collection of sylvanian families between them. I was sick with jealousy Xmas Grin

My mum mostly got us baby dolls and dolls things and vetoed what our dad got us. I had a few sylvanian families things thanks to my grandad which I loved and played with constantly. Never did get the windmill though Sad

peanutfoldover · 05/12/2019 05:59

A La Carte Kitchen and Mr Frosty.

I was born in 1980

letsgomaths · 06/12/2019 07:10

Lego was often on my list; but I did also really want to receive something that was too big to be wrapped. Some of my friends had this, and talked about being led somewhere with their eyes covered before seeing their new bike.
