Question for Echo Dot people....

Mine has just arrived, it's going to be for DS.
I also had an email about activating my free 90 days of Amazon Music. Now my question is if I activate it for DS to use with the Dot (and cancel it within the 90 days) is there any way DS can incur charges or have access to my Amazon account?

mogtheexcellent · 24/11/2019 11:40

Extra 20% off sale prices with code FLASH20 at portmerion.

Useful if you need to buy more christmas tree range crockery from a previous thread Grin

buckeejit · 24/11/2019 11:41

@PinkJam she's only 6 but very tall so teen type thing might be better - as long as it boxes away but would need a mirror. I have a great design in my head!

DaisyChops · 24/11/2019 11:42

Costco online have got the fur real simba on offer for £65.89 delivered, seems like a good price, I'm telling myself my DD does not need one!!!!

HauntedmessFrogbeaver · 24/11/2019 11:42

John Lewis have their Top 10 Black Friday offers on from today.

Jacopone · 24/11/2019 11:45

@LutherRalph1 - thank you!

Renovirgin2018 · 24/11/2019 11:46

Can someone please point me in the direction of the cheap (fake) airpods that were mentioned a few threads ago?? They have just appeared on my sons Christmas list and I cannot remember what was recommend. X

mogtheexcellent · 24/11/2019 11:47

@buckeejit my parents have just set up a beauty table at their house for 5 year old DD. If you have some wall space then there are some ikea drawer things that fix to the wall to store bits in. A stool will fit underneath and we added an ebay mirror with lightbulbs round on top. Not sure how you could wrap it from santa though!

BeaLola · 24/11/2019 11:47

Question for those of you who understand AirPods (certainly not me as I can't even get mumsnet to work) are the JL 2019 Apple AirPods with Charging Case
£139.00

The same as the reduced ones on Amazon or are they better/worse ?

Thank you

buckeejit · 24/11/2019 11:49

@mogtheexcellent - that sounds awesome but we don't have the space so I need something that can be boxed away & used on the little homework desk

HauntedmessFrogbeaver · 24/11/2019 11:53

@BeaLola

I know about AirPods!

They are the same but I got mine even cheaper at OnBuy.com

I'd look there first Smile You want the 2019 ones with the h1 chip and Hey Siri function

Carrie76 · 24/11/2019 12:00

A word of warning on the echo dots, my ds was given one last Christmas. I set it up and linked to my amazon account. It asked him one day did he want to try amazon music he said yes. We’ve being paying 3.99 a month for it since January and i can’t cancel it. Despite sending numerous emails and checking online they all say I haven’t signed up for it Confused

wibdib · 24/11/2019 12:05

If anyone needs Christmas movies there were hundreds in my local Poundland, some new, some used but checked, all a pound each. Blue rays were £2 each.

Could be handy if you’re making up movie night in sets and have a decent/expensive dvd and want to add a couple more cheaply, or to have some in to have by you at home for the Elf to leave out for impromptu movie night or to have on in the car or to have something different to distract the dc (lots of kids ones!) when you need to do stuff.

Luxplus · 24/11/2019 12:14

@buckeejit my dd just got the little make up box with mirror from djeco for birthday... it's not big but fits on her little desk and is quite cute.

wibdib · 24/11/2019 12:15

@Carrie76 that sounds the sort of thing worth checking out on moneysavingexpert if you haven’t already done so - and if nothing about it already then raising it with their team as it’s the sort of thing that is going to become more common as more people get this sort of tech and have it in kids rooms and playrooms where the people listening to the speaker are likely to be young and/or not the account holder (what if a friend had been there and said yes - surely they need to validate its you before automatically taking money!).
Good luck getting it stopped!

BeauticianNotMagician81 · 24/11/2019 12:18

@spub I've sent it. Good luck Smile

Daphine2004 · 24/11/2019 12:23

@Duckyneedsaclean thanks for the signposting to the extra discount for Adidas. Just bought myself some trainers and a few stocking fillers.

BigmouseLittlehouse · 24/11/2019 12:33

On echo dot - you can prevent any voice activated purchases in settings if people are worried ( although don’t know if that would prevent the Amazon music)

Reluctantbettlynch · 24/11/2019 12:40

Congratulations @HairsprayBabe!

UnderTheSleepingBaby · 24/11/2019 12:42

I'm looking for a good human body book for a 5yr old, the top 5 results on amazon have such good reviews that I can't choose! Any suggestions? And a bargain would be an added bonus (I figure I'll look on the book people)

Purpletigers · 24/11/2019 12:47

Under - the usbourne lift the flap one is very good.

mogtheexcellent · 24/11/2019 12:48

@buckeejit

IveGotALovelyBunchOfCoconuts · 24/11/2019 12:48
