Was it by any chance on a hinching facebook group?

If not I have also seen one 🎄

Eleanorbellanor · 27/10/2019 18:27

No way! That’s insanity Shock

Winteriscomingfast · 27/10/2019 18:28

We put ours up on Christmas eve

Catquest1 · 27/10/2019 18:31

I dont think it was a hinching group!

I can believe it. I saw one at the top of the street of one of my clients, two weeks before Halloween, last year.

Catquest1 · 27/10/2019 18:43

Its obviously making someone happy :) but for me personally its a bit early.

Still Christmas is coming!!!

There is a house near me that has had lights up for 2 weeks!

beckyvardy · 27/10/2019 18:50

It's not even been Halloween ffs

Paddybare · 27/10/2019 18:52

If it makes you happy and you want to do it then why the hell not I say! Life’s too short!

Dramaofallama · 27/10/2019 18:53

A house near me has put up their outdoor christmas lights this week.

Titsywoo · 27/10/2019 18:57

The start of our xmas lights went up last weekend but we do a big display for charity and it takes a while to put up (and all year to create!)

Titsywoo · 27/10/2019 18:58

Xmas tree is mad though!

meow1989 · 27/10/2019 18:59

A house on our road has a cheistmas wreath on the door since at least last weekend.

Personally I think it's crazy! Their houses must feel sooo empty come January (though there was another house that didnt take their decks down till march this year)

CherryBathBomb · 27/10/2019 19:00

They could be in a similar situation as the story line on coronation street?!

Bonkerz · 27/10/2019 19:11

A friend of mine always puts hers up now. She currently has posted pics of 6 different trees. One in each room. It was earlier last year and made papers

Catquest1 · 27/10/2019 19:24

There does seem to have been a shift towards decorations going up earlier but then coming down earlier too in recent years, rather than going up on Christmas eve and staying til 12th night.

My perception only - i have no tangible evidence of this other than other posts on sm of trees down on Boxing day.

There is no judgement here - i like seeing other people's trees

I've seen my first photo on Facebook this weekend too. Bonkers.

GreyGardens88 · 27/10/2019 19:31

Neighbours in the flat across the road have had theirs up for around 3 weeks now complete with bright gaudy multicoloured lights. I just don't get it at all, it makes Christmas much less special and magical having decorations up for 2 months before Hmm

duckling84 · 27/10/2019 21:41

Haha I did ask dh if we could put up ours next weekend but he gave me a filthy look.
Some people do put up Halloween trees though (generally black christmas trees with pumpkins and such on). And tbf, it's getting darker now, christmas decorations are in the shops, we are all planning gifts etc so that festive feeling is already beginning, why not fill it in the house as well?

Redspider1 · 27/10/2019 23:04

I enjoy autumn then enjoy the Christmas period in December. Why the need to rush into it and drag it out. Becomes less special if you do that. Just like you get tired of Christmas songs played too early.

WagtailRobin · 28/10/2019 02:08

If my mum would have agreed I would have had ours up already too. We put ours up on the 8th of December but my mum actually has agreed to us putting it up a week earlier on the first!

PrimeraVez · 28/10/2019 05:50

Are you sure some of the lights/decorations aren't for Diwali? (Yesterday, I think)

FluffyAlpaca19 · 28/10/2019 13:22

House near mine put lights up last Friday in preparation for Diwali which was yesterday.

hiredandsqueak · 28/10/2019 14:15

A house I pass on my dog walk put their tree up on November 1st last year complete with Christmas wreath on the front door and flashing Merry Christmas sign in front window. I will walk that way on the first to see if it has gone up again. Tbf I walked that way as they had a great Halloween display so wanted to have another look but all signs had gone and the Christmas stuff was out.
I'm a real Grinch so would put mine up Christmas Eve and take it down end of Boxing Day if it was left to me but string it out for a week to stop complaints.
