Just got off the phone to an insurance advisor. He wished me a happy “festive season” when saying goodbye!

I'm a real Grinch so would put mine up Christmas Eve and take it down end of Boxing Day if it was left to me but string it out for a week to stop complaints

Someone on my FB took the decs down on xmas day as soon as lunch was done, now that's proper scrooge behaviour!

I’m just back from the USA and whilst I spotted no Christmas decorations (fortunately!) a few houses had clear fairly lights in trees alongside pumpkin decorations. I thought that was lovely and would consider putting some tasteful fairy lights out now that the evenings are dark. Anything else, just no until December.

A couple of years ago we went to Tenerife in Oct half term, the mall across the road had full on decorations and a 12' high Father Christmas . Felt a tad weird to be in a swimsuit looking at the lights Xmas Grin

But , in true "Christmas Thread" Tradition, I will offer It's October Xmas Grin

I just wish people would enjoy festivities at the right time. I have family in Germany that put up their tree on about 22/23rd Dec until 12th night. They really enjoy it because they don’t start weeks in advance.

Redspider1 · 29/10/2019 18:49

Incidentally that’s why the royals do the same; because of their German descent.

CoolShoeshine · 01/11/2019 19:38

My mum’s not German but she does the 12 days of Christmas- nothing more nothing less. She’s over 80 though, I think it’s a generation thing. In her day the Christmas period wasn’t as dictated by retail was it is now.

I've just put some decorations out. The tree is going up on the 6th. After all, next month is December. Xmas Grin

RoseToes · 02/11/2019 01:17

I’ve seen someone put one up too, I can’t complain. Mine will be up in a week or so

Titsywoo · 02/11/2019 09:28

I am putting my indoor decs up early this year on 1st Dec as we have a Xmas party at our house the week after. Anything in November is not good.

There are still leaves on the trees people! It’s autumn until 1/12.
