Just looking for some ideas because I’m stuck with what to get my secret Santa this year!

I used to be a big horror film fan and discussed them with my team-mates. One of them got me a fab pillow that lives on my sofa that says 'scary movie security pillow'.
It really showed that she knew something about me and I still love it 😊

A nice scarf and a box of pencils that say things like 'get your own bloody pencils'!

Hedgyhoggy · 24/10/2019 21:01

Mini bottles of rum, mint plant, a couple of limes and a sugar stirring stick...I am partial to a Mojito

Blackbear19 · 24/10/2019 21:04

Two pints of blood - Cheers Santa x

Niche and wouldn't be for everyone but I was given marks & sparks spray on body oil in a jasmine fragrance

Person knee I liked jasmine and suffered with dry skin. It was a revelation and while sadly m&s no longer do this particular product it turned me onto spray on body oils (you spray yourself while still wet after bath/shower, then pat dry) which I've found really help my skin.

Also a gorgeous scarf - I think scarves are a pretty safe option if in colours the person usually wears.

Ones I've bought that seemed to go down well also included scarves, good size compact/handbag mirrors, one I found that also had a wee light went down especially well as the person liked to check their make up/hair in taxi on way out to events (I didn't know at the time pure fluke), good quality fudge/chocolate, good thick warm socks.

A beautifully sculpted very realistic model of my elderly dog (particularly impressive given how hairy he was) made by the giver. Bit niche though...

Orangedaisy · 24/10/2019 21:26

A board book for a baby. I was 7 months pregnant at the time with Dd1. Loved it, and so did she and her little sister when the time came.

Waitrose Port & Stilton . 1/4 bottle and cheese wedge in a box.

RubbingHimSourly · 24/10/2019 21:32

Self stirring mug always goes down well.

I got a lovely scarf one year. We worked in a draughty office and my hair was shorter so I always had a scarf on! My santa sat opposite me and noticed this fact.
A colleague did a lot of sewing and hers got her a pin cushion which was exactly her taste-that is very niche I realise.

Lovely pot of Neals Yard foot cream. As I’m a nurse it went down a treat.

grannybiker · 24/10/2019 21:44

A she-wee!
We always had joke presents, but I was delighted with this as we camp!

highheelsandwitcheshats · 24/10/2019 21:51

Nice socks (bamboo ones are amazing).

A nail varnish set.

I got a Bop-It at our annual Fake Christmas one year. Someone else got a Space Hopper the same year. Kept us entertained all day.

Lllot5 · 24/10/2019 21:54

Scarf and gloves navy blue in colour. Must be five years ago still using them.

Curlyshabtree · 24/10/2019 22:04

Fishnet tights and a feather boa

Perunatop · 24/10/2019 22:07

A box of 3 Roger and Gallet soaps.

Woopdewoop · 24/10/2019 22:18

A nunchuck (fake foam) and the dvd Apocalyto

Woopdewoop · 24/10/2019 22:18

Apocalypto even!

Imnotweirdimlimitededition1 · 24/10/2019 22:39

Hilarious sound machine handheld size great fun in office environment doorbell wolf whistle drum roll etc

Tobebythesea · 25/10/2019 04:30

Some wooden tree decorations - lovely.

I also once got a frankincense candle that I really liked.

The worst was a fibre optics spray night light. It was the cheapest tat present I’ve ever received. It didn’t even work.

Tobebythesea · 25/10/2019 04:31

Also, one year I got an egg timer!

Tableclothing · 25/10/2019 09:30

A set of very pretty sticky notes from Paperchase. I have a stationery dependency, plus I actually use them.

Another year I got a very cute 1-person tea pot/mug/saucer combo, very civilised.

Booze/chocolates always good for me, bit risky if you don't know them well though.

I have received a number of scented candles, all of which I've hated. I think smell is way too personal a thing.

LetMeLayAmongTheStars · 25/10/2019 16:34

Thanks everyone, lots of good ideas

I agree about smells being too personal, I also think alcohol can be the same, a bottle of wine that suits one person another person will hate
