Dd also has a birthday quite close to Christmas so I'm always looking for ideas. She has a phone, tablet etc so doesn't need any technology. It feels like it gets harder to buy things as they get older and it obviously gets more expensive!
Thanks.

Dd never wants anything but this year has asked for a 3 piece suit and some bow ties to go with it.

We've also clubbed together with wider family and bought her a decent bow and arrows as she does archery and has done so for 2 years, always borrowing kit from her club.

ShowOfHands · 23/10/2019 21:24

Oh and books. She has an Amazon wishlist of books which grows and grows and grows.

Toomanycats99 · 23/10/2019 21:26

I don't I am afraid @Scittle. They popped up on some random Facebook ad. (Random never heard of company) They do seem to have them on Ali express.

Just can't decide if they will be ok or turn out to be cheap crap......

Kiipix photo printer and instax films, possibly a case or other accessories for it.

Manga art stuff including a3 size mixed media pad, set of brushes and watercolour brush pens so far. Need to get a how to draw manga book, Japanese style hoodie with cat ears, Japanese sweets, and fine line pens.

Flamingo neon wall light.

New dressing gown.

Switch game or voucher.

DragonMamma · 23/10/2019 22:02

I’m glad I’m not the only one struggling - also has a birthday just before Christmas.

She’s having a new phone for Christmas and a TV for her room from her grandparents but beyond that I’m stumped...

SnowsInWater · 23/10/2019 22:14

I had never heard of a Sprocket printer - DD would adore it. Thanks!

DragonMamma · 23/10/2019 22:16

My DD had a Sprocket last year.

Used it three times max Confused

Cocoismydog · 23/10/2019 22:19

Snap, Birthday and Christmas her too.

Neon light
Lush bath stuff
Fitbit type thing (any suggestions?)
Handbag crossbody
Jewellery
Then I run out of ideas!

MsAdorabelleDearheartVonLipwig · 23/10/2019 22:22

I also have a dd with a birthday close to Christmas. Not really sure what she wants but she is obsessed with Game of Thrones so that’s a start. Some good suggestions on here which I am nicking.

itwasthegintalking · 23/10/2019 22:24

Argh, I too have a soon to be 12 year old DD, birthday day after Christmas 😬
It's so hard, I've run out of ideas after I've sorted Christmas out.

Yubaba · 23/10/2019 22:29

Dd is 13 and she’s getting a Fitbit, she’s been after one for ages, After that I draw a blank!

MulberryPeony · 23/10/2019 22:30

You let a 12 year old watch game of thrones Shock

Skyejuly · 24/10/2019 07:23

I can help with dungeons and dragons :-)

My 13yr old is a tricky one especially as we try not to spend as much on rubbish they dont use but we never get the balance right.

I normally buy her a branded top that I wouldn't usually buy.
I then get a few filler bits from primark such as Harry Potter jumpers and slippers etc. Cheap and cheerful.
Hair stuff...brushes/clips/spray
Nail varnish

I struggle with her as shes not really into anything!

actiongirl1978 · 24/10/2019 08:36

Hamilton tickets.
Hamilton merchandise.
Some bits from TopShop/New Look.
A new handbag that's she's chosen.

actiongirl1978 · 24/10/2019 08:36

And cash. She gets jittery when he GoHenry account is too low.

AgeingDurannie · 24/10/2019 08:47

@DragonMamma ditto re my DD and sprocket... now languishing in a drawer!

I have twin DDs who are 12, they are getting ( not necessarily each as they have differing taste): charms for the bracelets they got at their christening, artists pens, water bottles, takeaway drink cups, fancy food flasks and lunch boxes, dot flower crayons, Harry Potter/ Friends/ Stranger Things/ Stitch/ Dragon merch, fancy Christmas cookie that we do every year and some smellies....

bellinisurge · 24/10/2019 08:48

Wall mounted CD player. Retro girl apparently!

Lovemusic33 · 24/10/2019 08:51

Dd is 13 and wants Lego technics, she has ASD and doesn’t really do girly stuff (she likes to build things), also considering a bakedin subscription, she will be getting some more diamond painting sets as she loves those, other than that there’s not much she wants or needs.

hels71 · 24/10/2019 21:23

My DD is 12 and she has requested odd socks to chop up and make things with........

Joyfulincolour · 25/10/2019 12:24

Can anyone tell me more about the VSCO thing please? My dd has mentioned it but I haven't a clue! Is it a brand?

OP posts:
3littlemincemeatpies · 25/10/2019 12:37

@Joyfulincolour it was a filter so my 12 year old tells. (don’t really get quite they bit) I describe more of a vibe/style much like a goth and its kinda like a cross between an 80’s skater chick and a eco warrior beach hippie 😂 my daughter can’t seem to say anything without “cause ya know save the turtles ‘n’ all” after it

To be a true VSCO girl (according to DD) you need a fucking disgustingly expensive water bottle (hydro flask) which you when cover in lots of stickers.

A Fjallraven Kanken Backpack

A million scrunches

A skateboard

A shell necklace

Oversized everything

Birckenstocks

user1573334 · 25/10/2019 13:50

VSCO is a photo editing and sharing app, that has been going at least as long as Instagram but less well known. It irritates me so many tweens and teens are calling themselves a VSCO girl, most not even knowing what it is and being all 'well, duh!' to any parent that asks. I've seen swarms of posts on that really irritating 'DIY on a budget' Facebook group from parents saying 'my DD wants a VSCO room, but she can't explain what it is'. Hmm

DragonMamma · 25/10/2019 17:34

My DD is also a VSCO girl.

A Wetbrush is also key, as is Cherry carmex Grin

Geppili · 25/10/2019 19:35

I am getting my 12 yr old boy a Young person driving lesson! It's gonna blow his mind!

mumontherun14 · 25/10/2019 20:18

I'm thinking of

Fitbit
Straightners
Horse riding kit
Nice toiletries - she likes Victoria's secrets and Tigi Shampoo
Hoodie
Trainers
Pjamas, slippers etc
Some bits for her room - photo frames etc
Bath bombs
Books about horses
Board game
