Dd also has a birthday quite close to Christmas so I'm always looking for ideas. She has a phone, tablet etc so doesn't need any technology. It feels like it gets harder to buy things as they get older and it obviously gets more expensive!
Thanks.

My 12 nearly 13 yr old has asked for a weighted blanket and a filofax Confused. And the 11 and a half yr old has asked for beer mats so she can build really good card houses Confused. They're really not interested in stuff and it makes me laugh! The 8 yr old however...

Highly recommend this for anyone looking for a cheaper alternative to a Fitbit
DD got one for her birthday - was under £20 on Amazon. Does just about everything my Fitbit does for a fraction of the price. Looks good too. She loves it

@Skyejuly

My dd has started playing in a dnd group and loves it. She's got asd (aspie) and loves the structure and fantasy of it all. She has a set of dice but what else could I get her that would be of use? I don't want to buy the set of 5/6 rule books yet as I fear it would overwhelm her but want to get her something and keep her engaged with something she loves.

Thanks in advance, this thread has been fantastic as dd has a birthday in dec and is terrible at coming up with ideas for herself.

I did a local attraction annual subscription one year as a gift and it was excellent and definitely worth the money for dd.

I always explain to them that I like to give one experience/time sharing gift a year as it's a lovely bonding thing.

Have bought all my children tickets to a light walkthrough/show thing in the new year. I know the youngest ones will love it, the eldest will be as ambivalent as ever.
