Christmas smelling candles

Can anyone recommend a nice candle or candles? I bought some yankee candles last year but the fragrance didn’t last at all. Really disappointing.

I particularly like cinnamon and pine smelling. Nothing sickly sweet.

M&S and Next are my go-tos for Xmas candles. Never disappoint. M&S in particular have a really good range this year - already been in for a sniff!

I like Sainsbury's for Christmas candles had some lovely ones from them. I also love woodwick but I know they divide opinion. I have their winterberry from last year on the go just now and it's amazing.

Home bargains gingerbread flavour, amazing and cheap

lotusbell · 20/10/2019 17:17

Link to my post recently, I'm obsessed! Grin

MangoSalsa · 20/10/2019 17:19

Joik Gingerbread

Disfordarkchocolate · 20/10/2019 17:19

White Company do an amazing pine candle.

lotusbell · 20/10/2019 17:25

@MangoSalsa, thanks for that - a brand I've not heard of, they sound gorgeous!

wineandsunshine · 20/10/2019 17:29

Another fan of home bargains gingerbread....!

MadisonAvenue · 20/10/2019 17:31

I'm also recommending the Gingerbread candle from Home Bargains, it's £2.99 for a large jar and they smell wonderful. My son actually asked if I'd been baking gingerbread when he walked into the house while one was burning.

magicautumnalhues · 20/10/2019 17:33

I’ve got some lovely M&S and Sainsbury’s ones - white company are great but expensive, sign up and wait for a 20 percent off weekend! Diptique also lovely but even more pricey than white company.

Or make a big batch of mulled wine!

MangoSalsa · 20/10/2019 17:33

Lovelula.com stock a lot of their things @lotusbell

Fstar · 20/10/2019 17:38

Im burning the home bargains gingerbread one now, can smell it all over house. Molton brown are strong but expensive. Lab, dw home or sanc and fog candlez from tk maxx are gorgeous too

thethoughtfox · 20/10/2019 17:45

I bought the Diptique Christmas (Sparkling Incense) one a few years ago as a treat and was bitterly disappointed. When it was lit, I could only smell it standing next to it but could actually could smell our John Lewis Fresh Pear one which was unlit next to it more strongly!

Layoverlife · 20/10/2019 17:50

I also have the home bargains ginger bread candle after a recommendation on a different thread it is gorgeous not sickly etc. I also bought the Christmas tree one and the whole house smells Christmassy and just lovely 😍

hormonesorDHbeingadick · 20/10/2019 17:52

White company do lush ones but the are £££ and I cant really light candles due to young DCs. I get the oil and put a few drops on cotton wool pads and pop them on top of the radiators.

iklboo · 20/10/2019 17:58

Totally agree with @bangheadhere40

lotusbell · 20/10/2019 18:04

@MangoSalsa, thank you. Familiar with that website but don't think I've bought from there. Are the candles good strong scents?

Ricekrispie22 · 20/10/2019 18:06

John Lewis’s own make are good. I’ve seen that they have one called Frosted Spruce www.johnlewis.com/john-lewis-partners-frosted-spruce-tin-scented-candle-209g/p4115297

Theseptemberissues · 20/10/2019 19:08

My favourite is the Next festive spice - not too sweet and long lasting

ysmaem · 20/10/2019 19:32

Not a candle but candle belle to lovely was melts and have a few christmas scents. I love airwick and glade candles. I find the smell doesn't wear off like some of the yankee candles

Sandras0911 · 20/10/2019 21:42

I personally prefer to use wax melts instead of scented candles they're much cheaper and much stronger, I've just bought 2 called Christmas spice and snowy pines so you might be interested Smile I get them from here they are brilliant www.etsy.com/uk/listing/677040282
But if I do buy candles tkmaxx is actually good for them

COLOMBIA1 · 20/10/2019 21:55

Hi, I currently started selling soy wax candles on Etsy, my shop name is scentycandles, have a look maybe there is something you like.
