I’ll start, I have 3, one in the conservatory, one in the living room and one in our bedroom. All small, 2 or 3 feet.

Two. One in the lounge (6ft, ours) and one in the dining room (4ft, kids').

They get to throw all sorts of garish stuff into theirs and love it!

Shodan · 09/10/2019 07:53

Two-ish Grin

A real one in the sitting-room and (usually) a fake one in the conservatory. Last year though I bought a potted real one for the conservatory and then planted it out after Christmas in the back garden. That is now adorned with solar fairy lights, although I haven't switched them on yet , other than to test them. I might get another real one for the conservatory this year, but probably a cut one.

I used to have a silver tinsel tree on the (very small) landing, but I have a small chest of drawers on there now so no room.

If I had a bigger house I'd have more trees. I love Christmas trees.

ExpletiveDelighted · 09/10/2019 07:57

A big real one in the living room and a tiny fibre-optic one in the dining room. We'd have more if we had more space too.

ScreamingValenta · 09/10/2019 07:59

The first Christmas I had a cat was the last Christmas I had a tree! I was still retrieving baubles from odd places in April!

CherryPavlova · 09/10/2019 08:01

Two - one indoors and one outdoors. Both in the ground at the moment. The 6 foot indoor one will go in the hall. The outdoor one hides until Gaudete Sunday, when it is has its lights put up.

EmrysAtticus · 09/10/2019 08:07
  1. All fake as eldest DCat eats real ones and then throws up everywhere Hmm

9 ft on in the front room and a 6ft in the kitchen diner. DS has a 3ft one in his bedroom. I would love a 6ft one for mine and DH's bedroom so might do that this year.

popcorndiva · 09/10/2019 08:13

Got 3 this year. All artificial. 7ft one in the living room, smaller snowy slim fit one in the dining room and just bought a white one for my kitchen. Last year I had lots of baubles left so that is my justification

AtillatheHun · 09/10/2019 08:19

An embarrassment of trees. Last year lidl did sweet potted ones about a foot high which have been outside all year and will come back in. Then we get a huge one for the hall, kids have fake in their room, fake in the kitchen and often another real one for the living room (last minute sell off job)

elQuintoConyo · 09/10/2019 08:25

One 5ft fake, about 12yo.

Not much room for any more trees, but the house is decorated to the hilt!

hopeishere · 09/10/2019 08:31

Two. Both real. One in the sitting room and one in the dining room.

ysmaem · 09/10/2019 08:51

This will be my first year having 3 christmas trees. 7ft one in the living room and 2 3ft ones in mine and the kids bedroom

Barbarara · 09/10/2019 09:11

I’ve always thought that more than one tree was ott (sniff) but somehow the dc have a small tree each and I have a bare branch tree as well as THE tree and I’m itching to put a slim one in the hallway as well.

My mil has two very thin tall trees either side of her front door with white lights. A bit like the fashion for bay trees except the Christmas version and it looks stunning.

TailEndCharlie · 09/10/2019 09:13

Slightly embarrassing to say 8.... real main one in the sitting room 7 or 8 ft, and a similar sized real one in the dining room.... they will be bought on 20th Dec so cheap as we don't arrive home until the last Friday before Xmas (expats). Then I have a four foot fake one in the kitchen covered in miniature bottles of booze as baubles and a similar sized one on the hall table. Upstairs landing has a fake frosted 6 ft tree which is the kids tree and I will have (for the first time ever) a fake frosted prelit but undecorated Balsam Hill 6 ft tree in the master bedroom. Then the kids have two tiny 15cm fake trees in their rooms. I may see if I can get a small 3 ft fake one right before Xmas to put in the guest bedroom for the visiting outlaws. So may be nine by actual Xmas. Plus the one that is in our apartment here before we fly home for Xmas (where we are they have festive celebrations from mid November and present giving at the start of December so def a reason for a tree here too. That takes us to 10. I may have a problem....

Rachelover60 · 09/10/2019 09:18

I tend to buy just one but everyone is different. I know some people who buy a couple every year, put one in the living room and one in dining room. I admit I don't bother with that but each to their own. Conservatory tree sounds great!

I have a very old one in back garden, all sorts of 'golden' branches now with a few green shoots, it sits next to an old car engine that is growing plants! I feel as though I could draw it, there's something beautiful about the entire picture. Yes I know I'm odd.

FrangipaniBlue · 09/10/2019 11:20

5

Living room
Bedroom
Upstairs hall/open plan office
DS has a mini one in his bedroom
Outside by the front porch

I would also have one in the kitchen if it was big enough Grin

Ninkaninus · 09/10/2019 11:24

One at my OH’s (I live between my flat and his), and one at mine, where my girls flatshare. Both in the living/dining room.

The tree at ‘ours’ is decorated in purple, berry, navy blue, olive green and dark red.

The tree at mine (my girls’) is decorated in red, white, green, gold and a sort of modern Scandi style.

Cherryrainbow · 09/10/2019 11:26

An artificial one in the living room, and a small 1 foot one in the kids room x

RushianDisney · 09/10/2019 11:26

We get a 6/7ft real one for our living room and that's it. I don't understand putting them in bedrooms at all, we have quite big rooms (4x5m) and there just isn't the space.

yearinyearout · 09/10/2019 11:29

My DD says that when she buys her first house, she's going to buy it based on having a good bay window for a Christmas tree.

Ninkaninus · 09/10/2019 11:32

Oh both of mine are artificial, being a lot easier to manage in flats (although I did have a little real one in a pot a few years ago). Growing up we ‘always’ had real trees, I’m Danish and had never seen a fake tree in a home until I got to the U.K. it took me a long time to get used to them. Now I almost prefer them. When I lived in a house I used to have a real one, but it’s been several years of artificial ones now. I do like the lack of mess, and the convenience.

SaddleGoose · 09/10/2019 11:46

One. In the living room. Sounds so boring in comparison to everyone else! :(

TimeIhadaNameChange · 09/10/2019 11:53

Two. Five foot take in lounge and 2 for fake in shed. DP had built a new, massive shed this year so we're getting a new large one for in there.

We do have a million and one sets of fairy lights, though, to counteract the underrepresentation of trees.

Grannybags · 09/10/2019 11:53

Big ones (6-7ft) in the lounge and upstairs hall/landing. Small wooden German one on dining room table. Son has a pop up Star Wars one, but that’s looking a bit shabby so will probably replace. We decorate every room with a different theme - even the outside is all lit up. Proud Christmas nutters!

Barbarara · 09/10/2019 11:57

@Rachelover60 I think your tree and flower sprouting engine sounds fabulous.

tomboytown · 09/10/2019 11:59

Last year I had two real ones (2 lounges)
I little fake one in kitchen
I large fake one on ds’s bedroom
And one small real one in the front step
