What are you getting your 6 year old boys?

My son is 6 at the end of November and I am starting to think about Christmas presents but I am drawing a bit blank.

He absolutely loves cars (Disney and hit wheels) but has the hot wheels ultimate garage and a hot wheels track.

He likes lego - doesn't have any 'sets' but has a good assortment of bricks. I have looked at sets but some of them are so expensive!

He quite likes playing pretend games with little figures.

Likes trains but has a lot of Thomas the tank track stuff already.

What do your 6 year old boys want/what are you planning to get them?

Please share your ideas - I want to start shopping so that I'm prepared.

I have a 6yo dd rather than ds, but might give some ideas. She is getting Lego as a main present, also a diabolo and spinning plates after using these at a festival, a giant glider plane that does a look the loop when thrown, a foam sword and shield from Liontouch, a mini voice changer and a bop it. For her birthday a small drone was a big hit.

My son is 6 this month. For xmas so far there has mainly been figures for stuff like roblox, spiderman imaginext stuff, and sonic figures.

I got a make your own forky play doh set as he loves toy story.

He is into stuff like minecraft so I got minecraft lego and books. Game themes are generally on his wish lists so a few 3ds and ps4 games are in his stash too.

I've just got to sort out his chocolate stuff now

My DS is six this month, on my list for both his birthday and Christmas are:

There's a strong second hand market with Lego - can get good sets in boxes for much cheaper than new and, of course, it's unlikely to be damaged or anything as it's so durable. Have a look on eBay / local Facebook selling site.

My 6yo DD wants an explorers kit for her adventures. Things like a map with case, compass, boxes for her treasures, binoculars, gloves, trowel, jacket with lots of pockets.

She's getting a basketball hoop, Lego, board games, Books etc from various relatives

DS1 is 6 and he is getting a Nintendo switch. He is also getting a hot wheel set, some Lego Batman sets (I track them on camel camel camel). He wants a football kit but he won’t be getting one as he has too much already.
Regarding other ideas, has he got a scooter or skateboard?
Football goals or basketball hoop?
Imaginext do great super hero bits which both my dc love playing with. Batcave with the mini figures provide hours of imaginative play.

Imaginext is featuring strongly this year! Couple of Batman/Joker sets. The Spider-Man Jet is also a contender.

Will probably also get a scooter for balance of indoor/outdoor toys!

Sainsbury's have had half price Lego city sets the last few years in their toy sale

Can i ask those who are buying minecraft stuff for their children if they actually play minecraft?
I ask because my 5 year old likes to watch the Netflix minecraft film/programme but has never actually played the game and so i wondered whether he would benefit from any minecraft items (which he asks for) if he doesnt actually play it. Hope that makes sense!?

Mine adores playmobil and his remote controlled helicopter.

Magnatiles starter set? We started with that and Building up a collection now. It is expensive But gets a lot of play time. Get family to add to it with extension sets on birthdays/ Christmas . All three of my kids play with it together.

We are getting DS a BMX, a basketball hoop, a remote control monster truck, hot wheels cars and the truck to store them on, a slime kit, an excavation kit, books, a toy tractor, some tools to help on the farm, a drinks bottle for his bike, PILs are buying him a new, bigger ride on tractor

I did debate about mouse trap but I'm not sure if he'd actually play it and I'm trying to do no "filler" presents this year

Mousetrap isn't worth it. Theres a lot better board games.

I'm getting mine a den kit , book on knots , a wooden pirate ship hes seen, a wooden trainset with figures, jigsaws but harder ones as some he has now are easy for him, a what's the time mr wolf board game, some activity books , large wooden blocks for building, and a playmobil set it's a vet one I think which has a Guinea pig ( as he has a pet Guinea pig) from family he is getting an annual pass to 2 museums local to us.

Lego is a firm favourite, for his age there are loads of £10-£20 sets. Amazon have them reasonably priced, I got a police helicopter set for £11.50.
