Best playmobil sets for 4yo boy

Can anyone recommend some great Playmobil sets for a 4yo boy please? - looking for his birthday and Christmas.

We already have rubbish trucks, a fire engine and a pirate island. I’d rather not go down the farm/zoo route as we have a lot of Schleich already.

He loves the Playmobil we have, but isn’t really into any one type of thing IYSWIM.

Thanks

the playmobil hospital went down well here. also, if he doesn't have one already then maybe a house?

Dinosauratemydaffodils · 09/08/2019 16:04

Ds loves the hospital and also the pyramid/Roman/Egyptian sets in general.

The campervan is another hit, the playmobil people in our house go on lots of holidays.

He might be getting a house for Christmas though mostly because I don't think it's fair that they all have to live out of cars/tents/campervan (and I want to play with it).

Camper van & swimming pool sets have been a big hit with both our kids (boy & girl). My DS also loved the dinosaur range & at age 4 really liked how to train your dragon - they now do some playmobil sets which look good

Thanks.

I love the look of the camper van so might pick that up for his birthday. The swimming pool and hospital also look great, so will consider for Christmas.

If you have a fire engine, it might be worth getting some other fire sets to go with it, e.g. fire station.

Ds loved all his fire sets and also had a lot of police.

But the camper van, swimming pool etc are all good. We had a lot of leisure sets which were played with a lot. In fact, I still have all ds's Playmo (he is now 18) and am currently having a lot of fun posting a thread with photos of what the Playmolanders are getting up to in their summer holidays!

Somuch, I spotted your thread yesterday! It’s amazing!

We did have a fire station (given to his older brother), but it kept falling apart, as my older one is quite heavy handed. We passed it on in the end as I got sick of reassembling it! Luckily, DS2 is much more gentle and likes his tots as they should be!

DS received the Space range for his 4th Christmas. He has the launch station and rocket and the space shuttle (they combine). He loves the fact they have lights and sounds to add to the fun.

The castle is also very good (trap door, dungeon, hidden wall etc).

The Pirate ship wasn't so popular and hasn't really been played with.

I adore the Egyptian set and am contemplating it for Christmas (joint gift for DS & I Grin)

Thank you, equimum! Please feel free to come over and pass comment if you wish!

Mine definitely liked the campsite and playground type ones. Vehicles not so
Much.

Mine loves the fire station but I know what you mean about it falling apart (those stairs!)!

Also the aquarium as he loves water play.

FuzzyPenguin · 11/08/2019 18:19

The rock concert went down a storm with my then 4 year old last Christmas and he still plays with it now. You can plug and MP3 player into in and it has flashing lights. We got him the camper van and also the summer tent set and he builds his own festivals

Stompythedinosaur · 11/08/2019 19:31

The campervan is our most used set, with the farm a close second. The pyramid is my favourite! Vets and school might be other possibilities.

Candlesonthetable · 11/08/2019 19:35

My almost four year old loves the air ambulance. He spends time suspending patients below the helicopter on a stretcher.

SoMuchToBits · 11/08/2019 21:28

Camper vans seem to be very popular. Here are some of our Playmolanders enjoying their camper vans.

The plane is fudging amazing, even has a little drinks trolley.

My DD (5 years old) has tonnes of the stuff but likes the caravan and plane the best, she's spent all afternoon today going on a long flight to holiday, which required lots of packing and a rich back story Grin

SoMuchToBits · 13/08/2019 15:58

Sounds excellent! The Playmobil people do like a holiday I find!

Mrsfussypants1 · 14/08/2019 09:48

As another pp said, great thread. In another thread I'd asked for help on toy farm suggestions and playmobil was everyone's favourite, so I'm watching this with interest. I love your set up ToBits. So far in my amazon basket I have play grass and cant decide between sets.

Just seen that John Lewis has the pharaoh play set reduced at the minute

MeMeMeYou · 15/08/2019 19:22

My son likes the look of the police station one

SoMuchToBits · 15/08/2019 22:32

DS had loads of police stuff. It's all good!

Luxplus · 17/08/2019 12:46

Where do you find playmobil at a good price?

SoMuchToBits · 17/08/2019 12:55

It doesn't usually vary in price that much between shops. The Playmobil website is where I usually buy new stuff. But you can sometimes get some second hand sets cheaper on eBay. I have often bought from there when wanting discontinued sets.

Lwmommy · 17/08/2019 13:00

We e found great bargains in Sainsbury's and Tesco, also in John Lewis. We got the ice cream truck and police van half price in the Tesco toy sale.
