It seems to happen every year as soon as it hits mid-May, I get like a 12 year old and get ridiculously excited for Christmas!!!

I never think much of it until I left a Christmas song on that had came on on shuffle and the guy next to me on the bus could clearly hear it through my headphones - weirdest look ever GrinGrin

Anyone else??? Or am I actually just completely weird? 😂

(I think my mum has always been the same so I've got it from somewhere!!)

DH and I were stuck on the M25 on a hot August day. All windows open. I was driving, he was "mix master". God knows what people thought when he put on the Phil Spector Christmas album...

DonkeyHohtay · 31/05/2019 19:05

GET

A

LIFE.

FFS we have 6 fucking months to the hell which is Christmas. People who start squealing like to toddler over "Crimbo" in May are seriously lacking somewhere.

stucknoue · 31/05/2019 19:06

I like Christmas but I don't think about it until it's dark by 5pm!

Alsohuman · 31/05/2019 19:07

As if it arriving in all the shops in August wasn’t bad enough ...

MissClareRemembers · 31/05/2019 19:26

I’m desperate to renovate our living room and the whole decor and layout will be with the Christmas tree in mind! I can picture it so clearly!

Rosesarere · 31/05/2019 19:29

Me too! I'm so excited for Christmas already, we have just finished a house extention so can't wait to fill it with Christmas bits

Shufflebumnessie · 31/05/2019 19:29

I love Christmas and start to get excited once school starts again in September. However, as much as I enjoy it I'm really hoping for a long, sunny, warm summer to enjoy first.

Joopy · 31/05/2019 19:31

My 5 yo would agree with you! He's already started on the carols

anothernotherone · 31/05/2019 19:35

Seriously?
Yes, unless Christmas is your friend's name and you're excited on her behalf.

It's May. You're presumably excited about an annual event happening at the end of December.

Yes, yabu and annoying to post this in AIBU instead of on the Christmas board.

BellatrixLestat · 31/05/2019 19:36

@loie

Was it 'Let it Snow'?

....... I may know you

Pencilcase123 · 31/05/2019 19:37

Excited about Christmas not excited for Christmas. You cannot be excited for an event.

PhillipeFellope · 31/05/2019 19:38

I have a 2. 5 year old and we watched 'Nativity' yesterday Grin

I love Christmas, start inwardly planning about mid June, properly planning from September. Only year I've been off my game was when I gave birth end if November and I can barely remember December at all that year.

It's my safe, happy place. We're having a bit lot of a shit time at the minute and it's been protracted and drawn out so I like watching people's vlogmas videos and stocking filler/Christmas eve box stuff on YouTube. Cheers me up and reminds me that there's always happier times to come.

Im looking forward to guess what my SUMMER HOLIDAY havent been on that yet so christmas is way at the back of my mind, i cant understand people who want to wish their lives away its six months away

AudacityOfHope · 31/05/2019 19:40

We are hoping to be able to take the kids away on Xmas Eve as a surprise holiday so I am excited this year! But also know we may not afford it so keeping a lid on it.

Lookingforadvice123 · 31/05/2019 19:40

Haha yes you are insane! But there's worse things to be than over excited about Christmas. I do love Christmas and start getting excited in the autumn, but no decorations or songs etc until 1st of December!

Lairydea · 31/05/2019 19:42

Haha last night I broached the "who are we having to our house on the day" conversation, normally I do that in August so I'm definitely early this year! I think I'm so excited as I've been pregnant or breastfeeding the last three, so this year is the first where I'll feel back to myself! Also my eldest will understand it this year so I'm excited to start our little traditions!

itscallednickingbentcoppers · 31/05/2019 19:44

Yeah funny I was thinking this today. We have 4 monthly calendars at work so after today September will be displayed on the wall. September is all back to school, gingerbread lattes and basically Halloween which is pre Christmas. Lovely time of year.

managedmis · 31/05/2019 19:45

You're excited now?

I love Xmas but May's a bit early

U2HasTheEdge · 31/05/2019 19:45

It's a bit weird.

I am looking forward to having a summer first! I hate winter with a passion though.

DonkeyHohtay · 31/05/2019 19:46

All you squealy, ridiculous Christmas in May people should fuck off to the Christmas board where you belong.

Leave the rest of us in relative sanity.

Baloonphobia · 31/05/2019 19:47

People seem to be starting Christmas earlier each year and then it's over at about 00:01 on St Stephen's Day. We don't bother getting in the mood until Christmas week but we keep it going and enjoy it until Women's Christmas.
Wishing for the next thing seems to be the norm now.

itscallednickingbentcoppers · 31/05/2019 19:47

'All you squealy, ridiculous Christmas in May people should fuck off to the Christmas board where you belong.'

Is there a Scrooge board you can fuck off to?

Alsohuman · 31/05/2019 19:49

Wish there was.

DonkeyHohtay · 31/05/2019 19:51

I have heard it all. Someone who thinks talking about Christmas in FUCKING MAY is lunacy is a "Scrooge".

I hate Christmas. Hate the consumerism and the tat and the dark and the cold. I hate it with a passion in DECEMBER.

In May, it's the very last thing I want to see under discussion. The Christmas topic is there for a reason. To save the rest of us from the total batshit craziness.

ilovesooty · 31/05/2019 20:27

Another vote for all the Christmas squealers taking themselves off to te Christmas board.
