How early do your kids wake up Christmas morning?

On a good day my girls wake at 6am. Last Christmas they were awake at 4:30am with the excitement of stockings on Christmas morning.
What time do you kids wake on the 25th?
Any tips to get mine to sleep later??

I’m thinking of keeping the stockings in my bedroom- it might give me an extra half an hour at least

We often have a big family party on Christmas Eve so the kids go to bed really late meaning they sleep in until about 8/9.
Several times we've all been woken by MIL (who wakes at about 4:30 so 8 is virtually lunchtime for her) ringing to ask what they've had Hmm
If we don't have a late night then 6:30 is the absolute earliest I will allow them to get up, and then it's stockings only until DH and I have had a brew.
There's been years when me and DH haven't gone to bed until 3 by the time last minute wrapping, building and setting the scene is done, as well as prep for the dinner. No way would I let the kids get up at 4!

He's up between 8 and 9.

I'm happy with that.

Just normal time, between 7-8am. I couldn't handle 4.30am Shock that would be a lonnnng day!

When they were really small it was probably about 6.30am. Once they were school age we set their alarm clock for 7am and said they couldn’t get up until then.

They’re teen and tween now and we manage about 7.30/8am.

When I was a child I would get up really early - way before anyone else and go downstairs and sit in front of the warm air central heating vent with a book for several hours until my cursed brother woke up.

Fast forward a number of decades and its a bit different. I have been told by DS 11 that I will be up at 8 o'clock and that I'm to set my alarm for 7:30 so that I can get all that tedious coming round out of the way before then.

Last year ds tried to get up at 3:30! No chance! He was sent right back to bed. Up until then we’d have to wake him about 8 so we’ll see this year.

We had to wake ours last few years so we got them up at 8 ish, age 9,7 and 5 this year .

They will definitely be awake by 5am. They got up at 7:30 today but usual time is around 6:30. Last year on Christmas day I'm sure they were up before 5.

When I was a kid we’d get up in the middle of the night. I remember my parents going bs into bed bleary eyed whilst we played for hours in the living room playing Xmas music and dancing.

My kids never get up that early. I’m up at 6 am chilling out until they appear at about 8.30 and that’s when the youngest wakes and gets everyone else up!!! Ages 18, 17, 11, 10

Mine are all adult now but DD has a reputation for getting up at about 4am. A couple of years ago she and my DDil were having a conversation on Facebook at 4.30. this year they both have nearly 2 year olds so it will be interesting to see how early they get up

Theonewiththecat · 24/12/2018 21:56

Dd has just set an alarm for 6.30 she will come straight into our room.
DH is proper unimpressed 🤣🤣 I on the other hand will have been up half the night as I'm like an over excited child 🤔
