How the fucking hell do you open the M&S musical Christmas tree shortbread tin?

We got ours as a present last year, and have given up.

Has anyone actually got into it?

I have one with red sides and silver base. The silver base pulls apart from the red.

We have white sides and a silver base. I can't get my thumbnail or a knife in there to separate them.

Is the shortbread still in there from last year?! I'd have taken an angle grinder to it

Put it in a warm oven, heating it up might make the metal contract and make it easier to open, be quick though or whatever is inside might melt !

We had one last year as well. Run the top under hot water then get a screwdriver in the gap.
