At my desk for the past hour - there was a late night change of plan before the Cabinet meeting this morning which necessitated a shuffling of things.....grrr!!! Life is spinning out of control Chez Biddy at present. I actually took a day off last week to get things under control - but coincided with cleaners, who are doing later hours at the mo, so I couldn't stay home (it was the only day I could take off). At least all the DCs are shopped for (Nieces and Nephews) and a few more adults.
But DH is stressed out, ill, and still travelling (and throwing our plans into chaos as a result! - I have to get a babysitter for tomorrow and come home after work and drive back to town for a musical event that HE TOLD ME to go ahead and book, rather than meet a friend for a plate of food and glass of wine before going straight there after work - and I have to be in 3 places at once on Thursday, when he is still away, one of which is my rescheduled hair appointment that I need!). And he's very grumpy because of the stress and being sore (he's come out in a nasty reactive rash, purely because he's doing too much. Is that a message to slow down? Or the tale of our neighbor who had a mini-stroke 2 weeks ago from doing too much? Hell no - he was still working last night when I got in from my course and collecting DD from a last minute table quiz in school).
I've written 7 cards - 1 was sent in the parcel to Canada (day after final posting, so it should be safe enough). I am not sending the rest until I've written them all - probably this weekend. I have bought the stamps though. And finished off the 2 scarves for Canada, and 2 more have completely finished. I only have the very last one on needles, should be done by the weekend. Then sewing in the last ends.
What is falling apart is family dinners. A few things didn't come in the food shopping order, and DD is rebelling about some things (she got curry in school the same day I had made curry at home last week - and is not terribly interested in dinners this month so far so wants something like a snack instead). DH is getting in at all hours and still needing food. And as I have no time at dinner time, I haven't been doing proper meals from scratch so a lot of veg is sitting there waiting to be used.
Sorry, this is a bit of a moan. I think I need to actually see my house a bit more (I was home for 3 hours this weekend in daylight - in between racing around doing things so no time to actually get anything done at home). And get some sleep (and not get woken up at 4 am far too often during the week, and again at midnight as someone comes home!!).
Give me a minute - I'll remember my Girl Guide law again ("A Guide smiles and sings under all difficulties").
I hope you are all doing well. I'll hopefully catch up on the news soon....I know I get to sit while getting my hair cut at least!!
See, I'm smiling already!!
