Stocking fillers (which aren't plastic tat)

Could I start a thread on this please?

Good ideas especially for children. Useful things that I won't throw in the bin within a few weeks and don't cost a fortune.

So far I have:
Water bottle
Socks
Stickers
Pens and pencils
A knitting Nancy
Top Trumps
Annual

But any brilliant ideas out there?

Ooh good thread! I tried to do a “no tat” stocking for my kids last year, boy and girl but they both got the same:
Pants/knickers
Xmas slipper socks
Chocolate coins
Tube of sweets
Book
DVD
Blue tack
Prit stick
Post-it notes
Satsuma

Luckily their stockings are small!!!

These are great.
When ds’s were tiny we bought mag of plastic fruit from elf and I wrapped each up individually so there were 10 things to open. They were delighted👍👍

I’ve bought, so far:

Rulers (with fun designs but still useful)
Smiggle pens
Magic flannels
Keyrings (handy for identifying book bags etc!)
Tubs of slime (my token concession to pointless tat!)

We usually get them some books, a toothbrush, toothpaste and some socks too and of course some chocolate and some fruit
